Back for another 5 star evening!!
What an excellent dinner! We are back as a returning customer, and Alejandro is without a doubt the best waiter ever! He even remembered our favorite wine, the Petite Sirah!!
The Beef Carpaccio was superb, and of course we had Alejandro perform the must have, table side Caesar Salad! No one can match Alejandro’s style and technique. If you know the presentation you’ll discover he uses cheese where no one thinks to, and reserve’s some dressing to make a second application!
Perfecto!!
My fillet was perfectly cooked and my wife’s chicken was the most flavorful chicken dish either of us have ever tasted.
We finished by sharing a chocolate lava cake that paired very well with the robust red wine we had with dinner.
We are here for another 10 days and the only question is whether we go back 1 more time or try and get 2 more reservations and do it twice more!
Victor, the maitre d is very helpful indeed. He has become a true friend, I left a pen behind and he helped get it back for me on a visit 2 years ago…so I think we will try for 2 more visits!!
Do not miss going to El Conquistador, it is truly a jewel, and without doubt the best restaurant at any...
Read moreI write this with having been happy with most Royal Resort restaurants and fought to get reservations tat this particular one during my wife and I's last night in Cancun. The staff is nice though you'll be told no shorts and see plenty with them on but t-shirts are unacceptable as they should be at a higher caliber restaurant. The first 20 minutes of a great guitarist, ambience, and service had us happy with our starters of lobster bisque and French onion soup. Our water glasses were filled reasonably quick with replacement lemonades (enough drinking during the week) brought out for myself. After ordering our main course it became evident that we became an after thought for our waiter and his assistant with water not being filled for long stretches and no offer to replace my lemonade. The New York strip with "twice baked potato" was not good and I truly felt I could get better at an Applebee's. Due to watching the clock I realized nobody came to our table to check on us for 25 minutes and we flagged down someone to get our check so we could depart. Extremely overrated from what I was given the impression of what this place offered. Overpriced and...
Read moreHaving dinner with friends at the El Conquistador is always a highlight of our trip. My daughter and I had chose to share the Chateaubriand as we both like it very rare as well as extra vegetables instead of potatoes. We had an appetizer and shared the salad. When are main meal was brought to us the potatoes (we had not wanted) and vegetables were cold as was the bordelaise and bernaise sauces. Our beautiful cut of meat was served medium rare not rare. We were so disappointed that we shared our meat with others for other opinions. My husband had delicious Steak Diane perfectly cooked. A friend with us had ordered filet mignon medium rare and hers was rare. We reported this to our amazing waiter Angel who got the Maitre d, Marino, who looked at our food. Then offered us free dessert or half off our inedible meal. Seriously? We were served cold overcooked food in an upscale restaurant and this was they offer? There are many wonderful exquisite restaurants in this area where we are treated as a patron should be and we'll be...
