My girlfriend and I are swing dancers who were vacationing in Mexico City. We specifically chose to stay near Be Bop's so we could walk to what we thought would be one of the more popular dance venues in the city.
We got a booth the night that we went and ordered food. We watched as the DJ started playing music and people started dancing, it was quite crowded. Because it was crowded we didn't want to get up from our booth before our food arrived.
After twenty minutes or so the customers immediately before us got their food. Shortly after the customers after us got their food. Once we have been waiting one hour we were quite upset and our server said he had forgotten to put our order in. He still had the order written down and promised to get the order rushed. Fifteen minutes later he came back to tell us they didn't have one of the items and still hadn't started on our order.
We left. We never even got to dance.
Horrible service. Don't bother going if you plan...
Read moreThis is my first time here. The restaurant is decorated in 50's fashion. It looks great. Of course, the walls have pictures of Elvis and Marilyn. The restaurant is big and long. At the entrance there is an statue of Elvis and in the back there are statues of the Blues Brothers with a Viva Las Vegas picture. There are three convertible cars inside where you can actually sit and have dinner. Tonight Los Swingones are playing. The Singer said they won the Battle of the Bands contest (8/10). A friend said that tonight was participate busy. The crowd is on its early twenties. Many great dancers. Many swing dancers rather than rockabilly ones. There was a performance by an amazing tap dancer. After the band finished. A couple started singing Frank Sinatra's hits with background music. They were also great. The dance started at 2000. Some people started leaving at 2200. At 2300 the dance was still going. Highly recommend place. I will...
Read moreThe atmosphere is good and it covers completely the style of the 60s diner. But that’s nearly all what this restaurant has. First of all they are NOT having everything what they have on the card and we experienced that with more than 5 different things of the card which were on not available. We are 4 Persons… Even in understanding what we are ordering the waitress needs really to improve. The malteada‘s are good but not amazing and the Elvis hamburger is one of the worst which I had in Mexico City. Tastes completely boring, the bread tastes like nothing and also the meat and the vegetables are not good. Even the fries taste like they had a bath of old oil. I would recommend just to come here because of the atmosphere and the style and also because of the live music where you can drink a few beers.
Addition: All my friends were confirming my opinion and they are directly here from...
