Prime burgers
If you're looking for a quality specialty burger, this is the place to go. What you're going to get is some of the best quality ingredients with homemade buns and other ingredients made by someone who really cares about giving you great quality of food and a superb experience. The guy making it looks like he's quite a perfectionist and really wants to produce the best quality burgers in Mexico City.
This place is an outdoor food stall which is clean, well lit and comfortable. It's open late.
We got two different burgers and french fries. French fries are out of this world. Triple fried and perfectly salted. We really enjoyed eating these.
The actual burgers were perfectly cooked to medium rare even though I didn't ask for this. So glad to see this. Perfectly seasoned. The condiments were great tasting and you could tell homemade. Their homemade sauce was a little spicy and probably perfect for Mexico. Buns were soft and homemade. Presentation was better than you see in five-star restaurants in our to-go (llevar) boxes.
Now for me, the burgers are different than I would expect based on my American tastes. For me, I like a hamburger plain with lettuce tomato and onions, mayonnaise and ketchup. (In a sesame Bimbo bun, 😂) That's it. For me, that's a perfect burger. If I could get a gringo burger like this I'd be in heaven. Not like I wasn't in heaven eating the burgers that we got. My daughter loves them too
Now if you're planning on eating out there, I think my daughter said there were some mosquitoes so make sure to put on some mosquito spray. Everything was clean and as upscale as you can get for a sidewalk eatery. I didn't notice prices on the menu board so you may want to check on the internet. I know they deliver with Uber eats and DD I think. You may want to confirm this. Prices for drinks were very reasonable.
The guy running it there speaks perfect English and is so kind and welcoming. He's there very late. I highly...
Read moreI’m a frequent traveler to CDMX and always on the look out for a solid burger spot when I need a break from Mexican cuisine.
Prime Craft Burgers hit the spot. I’d give em a strong 4/5 for CDMX.
We got two burgers combo, the Bacon Jam and the Bacon Burger, with cheesy bacon fries along with a brownie and chocolate chip cookie.
Burgers are good! Great bun, good quality meat, could use slightly more salt (this can be subjective, but both diners were in agreement with it) to bring out the beef flavor.
The bacon jam is good, but less could be use to not overwhelm the beef. Tasted like a McGriddle with the first bite with how sweet it was. Bacon in Mexico isn’t as cured/salty as your regular bacon so I think it was missing on the sweet/salty play.
I’d also request your bacon to be crispy if you like it more crispy as the bacon tends to be softer if not asked.
Fries were delicious! Piping hot, crispy on the outside, while being soft and pillowy on the inside. Cheese sauce is a light cheese sauce. Seasoned well. I did order a side of jalapeños.
Brownie very delicious!
Chocolate chip cookie is a miss though.
GREAT service and the owner speaks English well too. He also asked for feedback and I shared some with him and he was receptive and kind.
If you need a break from a Mexican cuisine, and want a burger then give this place a try. It satisfied my craving.
Edit: I went back the next day. The owner remembered us and he was the one to cook our food. He made the changes we mentioned regarding salting the patties more and it tasted much more balanced now. We did ask for less bacon jam. We also got wedges and they’re perfect. Also, great...
Read moreThis place is fabulous! The owner was extremely friendly and answered any questions I had regarding the ingredients. I am trying to practice my Spanish and he was very accommodating. The Bacon Whisky Jam made this burger a 12/10 for me! I also love the you have the option between fine herb, garlic or a regular brioche bun. The branding is also a creative touch! Onions sautéed to perfection. I feel very satisfied and will definitely be thinking about this burger long after...
