Makesh Beach Club and Restaurant | Best Beach Club Playa del Carmen — Restaurant in Playa del Carmen

We just visited this place in Dec 2024. It’s a great location with a great beach.

You’ll get charged $600 pesos per person but they’ll refund $500 of that to you and drinks and food.

It took about 30 minutes for the first round of drinks to arrive and then they ran out of tequila and so it took about another 45 minutes for the second round of drinks to arrive. In the meantime, I ordered food for the group and they brought us extra food that we did not order and our large group unknowingly ate it. They then proceeded to charge us for the food that we didn’t order.

Neither the waiter or the management cared to remove the food from our order and forced us to pay for it.

The vibe is quite chill and lovely. The service here really sets this place apart- some of the best I’ve ever had in Mexico. The ladies were lovely and attentive, very present when we needed anything and super pleasant.

The price isn’t bad for what you get- I will say the food was just okay, nothing special but you’re here more to relax and have some drinks than to have a nice meal.

The pool was a perfect temperature and very clean.

My biggest complaint of this place would be the toilets. For a classy place that felt very clean overall- the toilets were quite grim.

"My experience was very unpleasant. I was very well received by the hostess to eat, as we saw their advertisement on Instagram about having a great day.

Upon arrival, we were discriminated against by absolutely all the waiters and bar staff, including those of Mexican and Argentine nationality. I was particularly surprised by the Mexican waiter, as even though I live in another country, I am also Mexican.

They simply ignored us ALL.
