In the bustling city of Amsterdam, there lies a humble establishment known as D&A Hummus. Amidst the chaos and confusion of the outside world, this Lebanese eatery offers a respite for those seeking solace and sustenance.
The moment one sets foot inside this culinary sanctuary, a warm and welcoming atmosphere envelops the senses. The aromas of spices and herbs mingle in the air, beckoning the hungry soul towards the promise of a gastronomic adventure.
And what an adventure it is. The food, my dear friends, is simply divine. From the first bite to the last, the flavors dance upon the tongue with a grace and finesse that can only be achieved through the mastery of one's craft.
But it is not just the taste that sets D&A Hummus apart. The portions are ample, yet not excessive, and the prices are fair and reasonable. One is left with a sense of satiety and satisfaction that can only come from a meal well-consumed.
And let us not forget the service. Oh, the service! The staff are courteous and attentive, anticipating every need and desire with a skill that borders on the telepathic. One feels truly cared for in this place, as if the world beyond its walls has ceased to exist.
But there is a darkness to this oasis of light, a shadow that lurks beneath the surface. It is the darkness of the human condition, the knowledge that all beauty and joy are fleeting, that nothing lasts forever.
Yet even in the face of this harsh truth, D&A Hummus stands as a beacon of hope, a reminder that even in the midst of darkness, there is still goodness to be found. So come, my friends, and partake of the bounty that this restaurant has to offer. Let us revel in the beauty of the moment, for tomorrow is but a...
Read moreWhile searching for Middle Eastern food in Amsterdam, we came across this bistro located at 3 places and wanted to check it out. We chose D&A Oost one for a lunch on a fine Sunday afternoon. We had an amazing lunch and absolutely loved our experience. For the drinks we ordered the Alexander beer and Kombucha Iced tea. We ordered the Shakshuka, and it was perfectly spiced with fresh ingredients that made each bite a burst of flavour. The accompanying salad was refreshing and vibrant, with a great mix of textures and tastes that complemented the dish beautifully. And let’s not forget the warm, fluffy pita bread; it was soft and perfect for scooping up the Shakshuka.
We also indulged in hummus chicken. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and paired nicely with the creamy hummus. The dish was really tasty, garnished with fresh herbs and a drizzle of olive oil that added a nice touch.
At the last, we could not resist Knafeh for dessert. It was not too sweet or bland, and we loved every bite of it.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We would like to visit the place...
Read moreThis gem of a restaurant is easily overlooked, tucked in at the head of the Czaar Peterstraat, across from brouwerij het IJ. The atmosphere is warm and hip, with quirky lamps, leafy plants, and artful tilework. The staff is so welcoming and lovely, whether I come with friends or with kids (who they always provide with pencils to draw). I am so in love with the hummus and cauliflower dish, that I keep coming back from more. The falafel is fresh and crispy, just as it should be. The halva parfait is a perfect desert. You can sit outside (can be covered when it rains) or inside. The perfect spot for a (big) lunch or lovely dinner. You can make it quick or take your time, this place will accommodate your wishes. Prices are very reasonable, especially since the quality and taste is chef's...
