Texas Chicken Lynmore — Restaurant in Bay of Plenty

I have been to Texas chicken twice, the first opening day we ordered the 2x $39.90 combo (12 chicken, 2 large fries, 1 mash and 1.5l drink) per combo. We got one combo with hot n spicy chicken and swapped out the mash for a coleslaw which we were charged for even though we were told there was no cost for swapping out items, we also ordered a 6pk of honey buns . Waited 45mins which was fair enough considering it was the opening. We paid for our order which was meant to be $86.80 and parked up front. Once we got our order (45mins later) they delivered it to our car, I done a quick sweep of the order. We only recieved 3 honey buns and 2 fries (we should have recieved 6 buns and 4 fries) now the frustrating part was in store was packed up and so was drive thru so we decided to leave it, it just wasn’t worth the extra waiting and probably by then the food will get cold. Now having to feed 9ppl with 2 large fries (not even large in size - more close to a medium, same with the 1x coleslaw and 1x mash) we were at least hoping the chicken would be good. the Chicken was hard and dry (maybe too long in the fryer) there was no flavour whatsoever. One day that same week I was checking my bank account and had catched the total cost I was charged at Texas chicken. A meal I should have been and was totalled by the cashier at $86.80 I was infact charged $98.70. I was in Hamilton at this time and wasn’t going to be back in Rotorua til later so I just took that as a “I will never go back there again”. But

Because I never learn my lesson once, I randomly pulled into drive thru again today and this time ordered a 3pc combo. There was a 5min wait on the honey buns and I was even charged correctly as I double checked before waving my card. My meal was delivered and I done a quick sweep over my items to make sure I got what I ordered (I did not want a déjàvu similar to my first experience). The service I received today was lovely, I was served by a lovely lady there her name was Amitha. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken as it was exactly how fried chicken should be. The honey buns were fresh and full of deliciousness. In general going through a second time has definitely changed my perspective. I would most probably visit...

I was driving pass and did not actually wanted to dine there. But decided to give it a try and was very delighted that we did. The chicken are so fresh and crispy and the best part of it, it was not oily. The Honey Buttered Buns are to die for too! The manager at Lynmore (Zane) was simply outstanding. Great customer service and interacted with customers with great professionalism. I can also see that he is a great leader there and I am sure the staffs there enjoying the work there. When staffs are happy, the output (food and service) will be amazing. Well done to the team at Lynmore!!

We only have KFC in Taupo but Texas Chicken is hands down the best fried chicken in town!! Wish Texas Chicken can set up shop here in Taupo and get rid...

Chicken was moist but no flavour. Chips were the worst we’ve ever experienced. Absolutely disgusting service, so rude, obviously aren’t familiar with friendly kiwi culture. Their eftpos machine wasn’t working and the server condescendingly accused us of not having any money in the account. When we advised the manager that the server was rude he replied “no, it’s just a communication breakdown”. Just another fast food outlet run by people who couldn’t care less about the quality of food or service. Don’t even get me started on the blatant racism and non inclusive hiring policy.
