ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE.

Cool decor and colourful vibe. Friendly and welcoming service. Super fast cook & serve. Immaculate. Simply organized yet diverse, customizable menu. Everything looked like the best food you've ever seen... just the appearance and smell hit so hard, the taste was another thing altogether :)

Chimichanga was the best I've EVER had, especially with the spicy salsa which had just the perfect slight kick and delicious flavour. It was gigantic, full of irresistibly tasty stuffing. Just the peak of what it could be, unbelievably good!

Birria Tacos, again huge and stuffed... yum! They may not be the best I've had as I've had many but very close, and especially in quality and quantity, they absolutely are uniquely enjoyable!

Sopes were very good, felt authentic and absolutely topped up to no end with stuff! Hibiscus Agua Fresca was great! Corn Chips & Guacamole - solid classics, cool that they had both regular & black chips (could do with more salt/seasoning).

Very, very high quality ingredients. Super fresh and with the feeling of being prepared with pride! The quantities are massive, as well. I was about to explode after putting away most of what we ordered. Really huge. A main is probably even too much for most people! Most definitely great value for money.

Cannot wait to return to try more stuff, especially breakfast/brunch and...

Having walked around Birkenhead casing the many eateries we choose here as it is new (to us at least) & we wanted to diverge from our tried and true favourite - Mulan. The special of the evening attracted us, as did the colourful decor. The place was not busy, however no one greeted us and when they did we had to show them there was a table which could be cleared for us to sit. We got our own menu’s, had to request to order, and when my friend ordered the special it was not explained that it was literally just one taco. No one checked on us so my friend had to get up to order more food. Luckily we were in no rush and happy chatting because it took ages to receive. Again, no one checked on us or came back to see if we wanted dessert or anything else. When we went to pay the entire bill was charged to my friends card (when we were splitting it). Whilst we are empathetic to the fact that there may have been some language challenges, overall service was diabolical and requires much more engagement and involvement. The food however was authentic and tasty. Some background music would be an additive to the ambiance...

Brilliant new gem in Birkenhead ! Such vibrant flavours and great choice of authentic Mexican dishes. Provecho clearly isn’t one of the typical easy Mexican food place, its menu is different and unique with beautiful authentic Mexican food offered. My family and I visited here this weekend for dinner and we were all blown away. Lovely staff and the menu caters to all (vegetarians and non vegetarians alike). They also have a kids menu. We had the jackfruit quesadilla, chilli relleno (beef and jackfruit), mango and almond salad, chicken flautas and nachos with guacamole for the kids. Everything was amazing and we all now have a favourite new Mexican restaurant in Auckland. Kudos to the team...
