I've had fish and chips the world over, from across stretches of North America to the cobbled streets of Londontown. I can state categorically that THIS fish and chippie is one of the best.

If one were to buy the fish and chips like I have, you'll experience a delectable and filling fish fillet that's warm, light and flaky. The fish practically melts in your mouth. The batter is a golden brown, crispy shell that adds needed texture to the mouthfeel. The chips are cooked perfectly; golden brown, crispy on the outside, with a white potato filling on the inside of each chip. My partner requires gluten-free dishes and she was well accommodated with an equally appetising grilled fish. If you're not interested in fish and chips, they have a wide selection that includes burgers, nuggets, and even what looked like homemade coleslaw.

The staff work really hard to get the orders out and make customers happy. You can really see what's going on in the kitchen from over the counter. One gets the feeling that everyone is in-sync with each other and enjoys working there.

The atmosphere also adds to the experience. The chippie is located off the coast of Lyall Bay and I observed many coming off the beach to casually enjoy a meal after hitting the waves or soaking some sun. The exterior is a black, shipping freight container which further pushes the industrial nautical vibe. It really felt like a nice place to hang out by the coast for a nice lunch, or to pick up take-home dinners on a Friday night.

This place never fails to impress and satisfy me! Well worth the 20-30 min drive it takes to get there from Porirua. This has the best Fish n Chips I have ever had, which has the best cheeseburger I have ever had. Love how fresh the fish and seafood is. So succulent! I have introduced this place to so many friends and family. This has now become a family fave.

Service here is super quick and super friendly!

It is located across from the beach, quirky bars, restaurants, and cafes. Parking may be a wee bit hard during peak but we managed to find parking at Bunnings across from there.

Worst fish and chips I've ever had in my lifetime hands down. So grease sodden everything was wet. Scallops not cooked raw batter on one side the fish just disintegrated into mush when picked up. The calamari a frozen breaded product you'll get at any bowling alley or pub the chips average but not good. When my order was called out they almost forgot my wifes vege burger and packed her portion of chips in under the gross fish. I paid for a coke but never received it, I couldn't be bothered driving back. The whole lot went to the seagulls at lyall bay Beach. Avoid this place disgusting food awful service not one positive.
