North Park — Restaurant in Waitematā

North Park is a place in Wynyard quarter with many nice meals to choose from, and with nice staff. However there were some flaws when I was here, such as one of the staff accidentally dropping a glass and as a result it breaking all over the floor, however they handled it very well and made sure no one was injured.

You might want to use your bathroom at home before coming here though, as for some odd reason when I was using one the tap had very little water power and it took 3 times longer than it should to wipe the soap of my hands, and annoyingly the hand dryers were near useless.

However, this place exceeded my expectations, as it had very nice flavour and a generous serving size per dollar spent. I would personally suggest one of thier delicious beef burgers if you go there, as it is an all-round great burger.

Now although yes the food was great and with good pricing combined with nice staff, the wait for our food (I went with my family) was not very nice and it took a long time to order anything to start with in the first place as well, so overall this place was the most average it can get.

Don't let its looks deceive you, but that isn't to say that the flaws I mentioned were for everyone. By the reaction of the staff when they realized they hasn't taken our order I knew that they wouldn't often let an occurrence happened, so I'll have to rate this...

What a shocking experience! The restaurant and bathrooms were absolutely filthy. We arrived with a booking and when we arrive were dismissed by the waitress over her shoulder while turned away from us (“were not seating anyone right now… oh, unless you have a booking”) before we were even greeted. We were told “oh yous can have one of those tables over there” and pointed vaguely in the direction of the patio. All the proffered tables were filthy and we had to ask 4 times for them to be cleaned — took 15 mins minimum and we weren’t provided menus or anything. In that time, the waitress avoided us completely and when she finally arrived said “oh i thought yous had left” dismissively before leaving again.

When she came to ask if we wanted drinks, the four of us ordered drinks and then she stood there staring idly over her shoulder until we finally said “that’s all” and she said “oh didn’t you want food?” She’d never asked us what we wanted to eat, only what we wanted to drink. We asked for more time to consider food and then had to find her and ask her if we could please order 20 mins later as she hadn’t turned up again.

The food was nice enough but the service was shocking and the restaurant was absolutely filthy. Seagulls were eating food off tables that hadn’t been cleared for half an hour. Appalling. Would...

Worst place I’ve been to in a while. We waited a bit under an hour for our food before asking them where it was. They said that they’d mistakenly forgotten to put it through, which is an acceptable mistake. It only got worse though, as we waited another half hour before asking again for another update. They then quickly threw a plate of tacos on our table (we ordered two tacos, a pizza and a broccoli salad) and nothing else with it. After another 10 mins the other taco had arrived, but was missing 1 of the tacos… the broccoli came out missing a key ingredient, and I had to wait 15 more minutes, after everyone else at the table were given their food, for my pizza (totalling about an hour and a half before we had all been given our food) and of course at that stage my family had all finished their meals and I was eating alone. The food itself was fine, but the portions were tiny for their prices. My pizza had a delicious smoked beef on it, but there were only a handful of pieces.
