Carnival is now my favourite spot in Lagos!!! Everything about this place is near perfection. First, is the space... I LOVE IT!!!! It's vibrant and cozy at the same time. Such a masterpiece. Then the people!!!! Oh my goodness!!! These are the best set of waiters and service personnel I have encountered in Nigeria. No jokes at all. They need to give their staff raises. Everyone is pleasant and helpful.
My stand-out is the mixologist!! I think his name is Steven (not sure). Goodness me! I asked for a surprise cocktail and he came up with something he called "Black Magic" (not on the cocktail menu). That was such a hit and I ended up with 3 glasses 🤣🤣🤣 Thankfully, I wasn't driving!
All of the food would pass the Gordon Ramsey test, no jokes. He may even be jealous 🤣🤣🤣 Everything I've had at Carnival has been, at worst, "nice" - that's how good the food is. Each fork-full is a testament of freshness and perfected seasoning. My lamb chops were a bit skinny, but the manager gave me an explanation that I accepted (because they were fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection).
Something that stood out for my friends and I... My friend wanted the croaker fish, but the waitress came back to say that the chef wasn't happy with the fish (I guess look / smell) and didn't want to make that for her. We were super impressed; because many restaurants in Nigeria serve food that isn't fresh or already spoiling and argue with the customers with the "that's how our own tastes" line. So this was great.
I'll probably get to the point when they'll have to give me a Loyalty Card! In fact, I'm going to look for an excuse to go there next weekend 😄😄😄
Carnival surely...
Read moreAVOID Went with my husband for food and cocktails, before ordering I asked the waitress if the lamb shank was spicy was advised it wasn’t . When it came it was full of hot chilli . I complained and they gave us 2 cocktails . And asked us come back . We returned today 4 days later . I choose chicken in mushroom sauce and my husband lamb chops . I asked the waitress Rose if the chicken was spicy she assured me she would tell chef no spice . The food came and the chicken was covered in orange spice . The mash potatoes was Mr Mash . My husbands lamb chops was scrag ends of lamb . The waitress who was lovely said she had told the chef no spice . She said they will make it with no spice . 15 minutes later my food came same chicken the chef has tried to wash the spice off . It was still orange but as dry as a nuns crutch . It was inedible. They then sent a lady with a cocktail and she said they would make something else . I’d seriously lost my appetite. My husband got the bill and shock they had charged me for my food . I asked for the manager he came and they said come to our brunch . No thanks . We have you a 2nd chance and I’ve tasted better food in a transport cafe in Manchester. The Indian manager thinks it’s funny to laugh in customers faces . Also the chef walking around with no uniform he’s personal appearance needed a lot to be desired. I would of rather give the 150. K to a homeless person and had snacks from spar . The staff are lovely chef and manager are so...
Read moreI was there for their lunch package, and I wasn't disappointed. The food quality was very good, I have to give this to their chef 👌
The portion was small, but it was filling, I almost slept after eating, and if I was given a bed, I would definitely sleep.
The ambience was very beautiful and comfy. There was no heat, and AC was well regulated. I don't do well with cold, and I didn't have reasons to tell them to reduce the temp even though I was sitting directly under 1.
The staff also are well trained, they know what to do at the right time. I didn't wait long for my meal, and they were all smiles and respectfully doing their job.
The space too is great and can accommodate family, so if you're looking for where to go with your family for the holiday, I will recommend 👌.
I don't regret spending my money and will definitely come back some other time.
PS: quality...
