2021: We returned yesterday in the hopes of having dinner here in the heat, but without an reservation. The restaurant were basically empty so we expected that this would be no problem, but the waiter told us they had no open tables. However by inspecting their booking system online I could see booking a table for us 45 minutes later would be no issue. So with only empty tables, and no guests, and a confirmed free table 45 minutes later, I can come to no other conclusion than that this was a case of a rude waiter who had dissilusions of grandeour when it comes to the expected "acceptble clothing" in the heat. And to realize he did not even have the courtesy to admit this was why he would not let us have a table is further insult to injury. I can understand resturants do have a wish to have a minimum standard dresscode for their guests, but to rigidly disregard weather or circumstances and thus customers comfort, is a very inconsiderate way to treat paying customers.
(And for the record I would not say any of us were poorly dressed. Ofcourse jeans or dress pants were not an option in the heat, but we were still properly dressed, and considering no other establishment later this same evening had any issue with our choice of clothes, Tijuana's lack lf both guests and free tables paints a pretty obvious picture)
If this is their current mode of business and service, I cannot reccomend Tijuana to anyone, even less while the weather is warm and Norwegians would tend to.dress as light as possible. There are plenty of options, and while Tijuana have had a history of being one of the better options, but this matters little if they wont serve you anything. We took our business and money elsewhere, and sadly I would suggest you do the same.
2019: A good place with character and style, and a selection of tequila, tacos, and other mexican food. While the place is not bad in itself, and the locale is good, the food has degraded over the past year. Perhaps not in general quality, but certainly in taste. What were once greasy, saucy, and tasty is now more dry and bland in both taste and texture. I hope this were just an unfortunate coincidence, and not a new standard since last time I visited, though that is...

I came here today for the first time, impulsively with my fiancé when the music attracted me to look inside the backyard, and with extra curiosity being Mexican myself. We went inside and sat down, ordered ceviche and two "taco planks". Little did i know i would proceed to be mindblown by the taste, i was taken right back to the mercados in México city where i have spent timeless visits eating tacos of all kinds with my family. To me this has been the most authentic, warming and REAL experience trying to find something that can match the taquitos back home. I only wish i had ordered more! ☀️
Kind staff, pretty and fun locale, I had the pleasure of speaking with two of the fellow latinos who works there and thank them for my meal. I cant wait to bring my entire family back for more, treat ourselves to a small piece of our home country who we miss dearly. ☀️
At this point - the only thing missing would be eating it from a plastic wrapped plastic plates like they serve it...
Read moreThis was my second time coming to this restaurant. Same as the first time, I tried a tasting menu, this time the "meat fiesta". The food itself was delicious. Well prepared, flavourful, a good variation of meats and tastes and a nice selection of garnishes. Unfortunately the food was not warm enough. It was clear on that platter that the sausage was the last thing prepared as it was the only hot food. Eating a medium rare beef steak cold is truly not enjoyable :( When it comes to "being warm" the whole restaurant was freezing. Despite the enormous radiator next to the entrance, I had a sweater on and was still cold. I promise I usually like cold weather! But dining it was not it. The table we were sat at was incredibly small. Yes, a two people table. But not suitable for the platter too. We had another couple to the left and a wall to the right. Other tables in the restaurant were still available during our whole stay. I strongly encourage better organizing of the seating and maybe the kitchen too?! All that said, the food was still very nice. The drinks are top notch as well. Might consider...
