Having been on the prowl for a good burger place close to home for a while now - my delight knew no bounds when I finally stumbled onto Grilled Burgers by Sherlock Holmes.
Now while the two have no relation with each other per say, rest assured that like Mr. Holmes, the people behind this establishment are true masters of their trade.
So on to the food
I tried their Sherlock special beef burger (Rs. 650) + their Sherlock special lamb burger (Rs. 900).
Both burgers were served with a rather small portion of fries. The fries however, were of top-notch quality - crispy on the outside but mellow on the inside. They were further tossed in some "chaat masala" like seasoning. While I didn't care much for the masla the fries were not oily or soggy and it was clear that they were made in fresh oil.
(P.S. for the burgers, the place had run out of Jalapeños so I would say I didn't get to experience the full package as of yet.)
The prime selling point of the place was that they understood that for a burger to succeed you need to taste the meat. The seasoning of the meat is key - THE PLACE ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT.
You will also note that their signature sauce doesn't pack much flavour chiefly because the meat is the primary flavour source in their burgers (Which is awesome since most places just bombard a burger with sauces to the point where you can't taste anything).
The beef was great no problem at all. No funny smells, no soggyness, no bone chunks.
But the lamb - THE LAMB WAS A SLICE OF HEAVEN """"(They use Australian lamb)"""". It was cooked to PERFECTION - it wasn't undercooked but still managed to remain juicy. In addition, it was just the right amount of chewy and made for a great sensation whenever you had to bite down on it and pull ever so slightly.
And no, for those who can't take pungent aromas, it didn't smell at all.
Just PHENOMENAL stuff. Great value for money too.
Lastly the decor itself was pretty epic and they have some very gorgeous canvases inside.
So do give them a visit. Both Asif and Huzaifa are awesome people that frankly love what they do.
They deserve...
Read moreSorry to give you this but I had a very very bad experience with Sherlock Burgers.
So I visited to their branch at New Lalazar at evening and I ordered their 500 RS deal where we get 4 zinger burgers and apart from that I also ordered 2 masala fries 200 RS each so after giving my order I gave them my bill.
After that I was standing there and waited for at least 40 minutes to receive my order and I was keep saying where's my order? Still the guy saying to me " Sir bas hogya hai " Then I get 4 burgers and guess how are they serving me? He was putting my burger inside of their customizable wrapper or I can say " Khaaki Lifaafa " and they were not giving me any disposable box or anything.
All of a sudden I get fries after waiting for 15 minutes then I good to go.
P.S: I also ordered half plate Momo's from the next shop of them and he treated me very well and gave me 1 extra Momo and apologize me and thank me for waiting for a long time and I'm saying this " IT WAS ANOTHER SHOP JUST INFRONT OF SHERLOCK BURGERS!! ".
NOTE: I believe these Pakistani brands need to learn something from Cheezious, KFC, McDonald's etc because if you wanna grow and compete these bosses you have to improve your...
Read moreI ordered the Sherlock special. This is handsdown the best meat that I have ever tasted in a burger. Beef is very well cooked, juicy and has the most delicious blend of spices, nothing in excess or deficient.
The first thing you notice when hold the burger in your hand is how much heavier it is compared to the 'mighties', 'fats' or 'bigs' from the established brands.. the weight almost all comes from the beef patties.. which as generously as they have put in.. you still crave for more.. they are so delicious. The sauces blend really well, without overpowering the juicy flavour of meat.. bun, lettuce etc are just fine. My order was delivered within 20 minutes, however the masala fries had already gone soggy. I found them lacking crispiness as well as taste. There's quite a good room for improvement there.
I will definitely...
