Casa dos Bifes Silva — Restaurant in Arouca

Very strange experience for a place that is in such a touristy destination. We went there on Tue in Aug, still high season I would say, and the place was almost empty. The truth is that this was one of the few places actually serving anything that evening. The interior is very unwelcoming, so we asked to sit outside. None of the waiters spoke any English. They had 4 main dishes on the menu, but 'forced' us into Alvarenga steak, as we kind of understood they had nothing else. Then he brought out some starters without us ordering them. The Alvarenga steak itself was in parts not done at all and bit chewy. Generally the food was really mediocre. On positive side, the service was fast, house wine was decent and the prices are very reasonable. But still I would expect much more professional and customer...

Um restaurante que ficou parado há 20 anos atrás. Tinha tudo para ser um bom restaurante, nomeadamente a localização, mas está muito mal aproveitado. O atendimento é extremamente demorado (foi à semana, nem quero imaginar ao fds), troca de pedidos, na conta vêm coisas a mais (entradas duplicadas e valor excessivo para a qualidade e quantidade)... A ementa apenas acompanha com batatas fritas ou arroz branco, nada de batatas à murro ou cozidas por exemplo. Apenas 2 escolhas: bifes ou bacalhau frito, nada de bacalhau no forno, assado, ou cozido, nem ao pedir fazem (a razão é simples o que deixa a desejar...). As sobremesas foram a pior parte, todas industrializadas, mal por mal vão ao Lidl que ficam bem melhor servidos. Os bifes são bons mas nada de especial, pelo menos não vale a deslocação a não ser que os vossos padrões sejam extremamente baixos. Boa sorte para a gerência pois se não se renovarem e se adaptarem vai ser muito complicado conquistar esta nova geração de clientes e vingar nesse meio competitivo, entristece-me ver restaurantes assim, sem paixão no que fazem, estarem abertos só por estarem e enquanto têm...
