This review is of the quality of a certain manager on duty Friday lunch service july 20 2018. First off, the Restaurant opened late. It seems to be reflective of the quality of the manager in charge. We informed said manager of our time constraint due to an flight. A restaurant managers duty is to make sure patrons have seamless dining experiences ESPECIALLY when the guest communicates a need for urgency. We informed our server of our time needs and pushed him to put in our order right away. We ordered a main a side and two starters. The server told us the particular main we ordered was 20 min max. The starters came and went. 20 min after those starters came (which took 15 min from ordering, not after we initially ordered, mind you) still no main so we asked if they could box it up for us lest we miss our flight. The next fifteen minutes ensues arguing with the manager that he should either box our meal or waive the cost, to which his reaction is to call us criminals and threaten to call the police on us. The main finally comes out in the mist of us arguing with the manager that we shouldn't have to pay for a dish that didn't come out ( 20 MINUTES late and that HE refused to allow us to take with us). He refused to serve us a dish and still expected us to pay for it. We also find out that the reason the main took so long was because they COURSED OUT OUR MEAL. WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS WHEN THE GUEST TOLD YOU THEY HAD A TOTAL OF LESS THAN 30 min FOR THEIR ENTIRE DINING EXPERIENCE ? If the manager was competent he would've made sure we were in and out in the allotted time or around then instead of being the ONLY one not willing to help us at all. The wait staff were trying to accommodate to us. He was vindictive and stubborn and the most non service minded individual in the service industry I've ever dealt with and I am from the industry myself. He tried to use a sanitation excuse why we weren't able to take the dish away IN OUR OWN RECEPTICLE that we provided ourself. THERE WAS A HAIR IN THE COCKTAIL I INITIALLY ORDERED WHICH WAS DISCOVERED AFTER I STARTED TO DRINK IT. He had the audacity to cite sanitation issues when the establishment he was overseeing put out major food violations like that!?!? Initially regarding the hair issue we didn't make an issue other than replacing the drink despite losing my thirst for said drink after ingesting a contaminated libation, but with the ridiculousness of the managers insistence that we were criminals for not wanting to pay for a dish he REFUSED to give us. He never took off the cost of the dish. He never gave us our dish. He induced me to raise my voice about the hair in my drink so that other guests could hear of the restaurants mistakes and lack of sanitation . He was not discreet, he was not respectful. As one who should lead the front of house staff he was the only one causing embarrassment. I am sure that you do not instruct your staff to threaten to call the police on customers or calls them criminals over a disagreement. Had you employed a competent manager your restaurant would open on time and when issues arise, troubleshoot the issue, don't act like a baby or threaten the customer At the end of the day, we ordered according to the information we were given. Had they fired all the food right after we ordered it then there would have been no issue at all. The miscommunication with the coursing delay, the lack of rush order label on the line cooks ticketing system and the fact that the time estimates were off were where the problem stemmed from. (Even with 15 min apps +25 min entrees it was at the 43 min mark when we checked on the main and was told it would be another 5-10 min that we asked to get it boxed bc we needed to head out to the airport. We left 20 min after the time we told the manager we had to...
Read moreI visited this restaurant with my boyfriend for my birthday today and we were in AWE with the food and level of attention we received from staff! We’re from New York, so we tend to be tough food critics as we dine out for dinner at home quite often. We ended up sitting outside because it was a beautiful night, but the interior was nothing short of beautiful! We started with drinks, we both got passion fruit flavored drinks, one of which was their signature drink! They were both super yummy and still had a great amount of liquor, we ended up getting another round of the same drinks! We had the variety bread as a starter, which was super tasty and I loved the olives and olive oil! But the stars of the show were really our main courses. My boyfriend got the Duck cannelloni dish which was super rich and flavorful. I got the pumpkin and nut ravioli, which as simple as it sounds, definitely exceeded any expectation I had for the dish. Presentation, taste, EVERYTHING was a 15/10. Since it was my birthday, we also ordered 2 desserts: the peanut butter and dulce de leche ice cream sandwich and the cheesecake! Both were so decadent and rich in flavor. The cheesecake is unlike any other I’ve had before, and I really fell in love with the dessert. I loved this restaurant so much that although we only have 2 days left of our stay in Portugal before going back home, we are going to try to dine in again on the last day! It was amazing. We’ve both been raving about this restaurant as it’s not only the best restaurant we’ve visited during our stay, but definitely in our top 3 restaurants of all time!!...
Read moreGot there at 5:30 and was told they open at 7pm made a red and came back. Food was mostly okay. We had bifana for a starter. Pork was very tender. Sauce was tasty and balanced, not the same “transitional” pepper flavors we’ve had around the city and in Porto. I’d describe it as mild bbq sauce with a bit of tomato base. (I’m American). We also had the octopus rice and bacalhau. The octopus rice despite the somewhat glowing reviews here on google, NOT EDIBLE. And I’m not that particular on what is edible or not. Too salty and sour. Octopus it self was very tender. And the parts with the cream sauce or the “hot sauce” were great. Added an extra layer of something that balanced out the in your face base sauce. The cod was good if you made your bite. The starch base was Very rich. Cheese… cream? Either way heavy on the savory. But the cod was well cooked. Bits of char. Caramelized onion. The added smoke and sweetness and meat balanced out the richness of the starch base. Very good entree but I did not completely finish the base. I didn’t love my wine either despite it being recommended. But wines are hit or miss depending on the person so I can’t blame them For that. Overall, probably not worth the extra wait to be in LX factory at night. Maybe if your already there and are willing to try something new. It does look like they tried to be posh and innovative. Somewhere in the city is probably a better place to get...
