As every other comment says, the views are great but the rest is not so good.

The staff is good too, but it’s clear the owners are trying to squeeze so much revenue out of the restaurant that the whole experience becomes bittersweet.

The food quality is average at best. Nothing tremendously wrong, but you wouldn’t go back for the food. Everything is just a bit meh. Also extremely pricey at 35 EUR per person, there are so many better options around Ericeira with incredible food at that price point (try LAB, Mar das Latas, Costa Fría, etc)

The water bottle and cuovert (bread and butter) get delivered to the table without you ordering them and ofc you get charged for this. It’s like 11 EUR total for the bread and water. Again, a bit pricey, a bit dishonest, and the bread was nothing out of the ordinary.

Then the bill comes and it includes gratuity. Sorry but this is not the United States. This is absolutely not okay. It is unexpected and dishonest. This is Europe, and prices in the menu are the final prices customers expect. You just don’t get to charge me more because you have wet dreams about turning your little restaurant into an American outpost.

In summary, this is not a restaurant: this is a money-making machine that happens to take the form of a beach restaurant.

I’m pretty sure at some point the owners came back from a trip to the US, read a couple self-help books on “how to maximize revenue” and thought their idea of copying the absurd American tip culture while cutting costs by lowering food quality was genius. But everyone who’s not on the same power trip as the owners sees right through this.

You just need to read the rest of the reviews to realize customers are not stupid.

Edit: oh! Just realized the owners are buying fake positive reviews to offset the negative reviews. Go through the five star reviews and you’ll see people from Nepal reviewing this restaurant. Laughable. This is beyond dishonest, shady af. I initially gave a review of 3/5 but after this I’m lowering it to 1/5. Unacceptable. Make better food, be more honest and you won’t have to buy...

We had high hopes for this place because of the reviews, and we were crushed with our experience. I am curious if it is owned by someone outside of Portugal because it really went against the culture we have been experiencing all week on our stay in Portugal. This restaurant made us feel manipulated and taken advantage of… and I assume it is management telling the staff to have these procedures, because the staff were all very nice. First, there was a large bread and water bottle brought to the table when we didn’t ask. This was NOT free, but we were not told that. Luckily my husband was suspicious and asked, then told them to take it away. In addition, we were the only foreigners in the restaurant at the time, and the extra tray of unrequested food was only placed at our table, none of the locals. The food was average to poor. The wings were good, but the salad was wilted and slimy. The french fries were good, but the wrap was tasteless. Then at the end a gratuity was placed on the bill.. another surprise since the Portugal standard is to round up. The view… unbelievably was not good from inside the restaurant. They had the stage and heaters blocking the view. The entire experience was a disappointment. If you are at this beach I would recommend trying one of the many others along...

I want to start with the positives, which are that the food was good and the view on the beach was absolutely amazing. It really cannot get better when looking for a beach side restaurant. Unfortunately there are also some things that made our experience not ideal. Firstly, the music was a bit too loud, which made it hard to focus on our meal or conversation and it was mainly pop music. Additionally, when we sat down we were immediately served with a bottle of water and some bread with a spread, without us asking or being asked if we wanted some. It turns out that this costs €3,50 for the water and €8,50 for the bread. We felt this to be 1. Too pricey and 2. A bit dishonest. If the starting bread and water is not free, then they should not be served unless ordered. Lastly, on the bill, a tip is already included without asking, which again feels a bit dishonest. Apart from these things the food was good and the...

100% recommendation. We went mid-September for dinner and drinks and had a great time. Prices are fair, food is good, the service was nice, we didn't have to wait long. Frankly, the bad reviews were a little off-putting at first, but since a lot of the reviews were quite dumb (e.g. "beer is a little cheaper at the pub"), we figured we just give it a try since we've been there in 2020 and it was great. Overall we can't understand why there were so many bad reviews maybe it's the competition that are faking bad reviews or some other people who are either too dumb to understand, that indigo ist not your downtown pub nor michelin level fine dining. So if your down for some nice ambiance, good atmosphere, and good quality food, you should try this. Edit: following my recommendation, my parents visited indigo for lunch in october and were also very content.

Very nice location facing the beach great view from the outdoor patio or seating at the window. Food and drinks are quite pricey for what they are. Not very impressed with the service however, as I ordered vegetarian tacos and was served prawn tacos (my portuguese is basic but I used google translate to help so i know my order was correct). Only realised they were prawn after taking a bite as the pieces were quite small and mixed with avocado. I did eventually get the correct order which was quite good, flavors were fresh. However the waiter also did not give me change on my bill so basically got a tip I would not have given considering the mistake with my order. Basically would recommend for the view but not really for the food.
