Great area to sit, outside on the red seats. Shame about the service. I came here in June and while pulling something out of my bag, a beer bottle fell out and smashed. Asked a server for a dustpan and brush. Then I had to ask again. Then I asked a further 3 times. "Yeah 1 moment", every person I asked, said. And they just never bothered to do it. 30 mins later, after picking up the largest shards by hand, we had to leave for our surf lesson.
The glass is probably still there now. Many customers were barefoot including children, so we had to go table to table and warn people about the glass. How difficult is it to grab a dustpan and brush? Of course all the staff had proper shoes on, so why would they care? Unfortunately such lazy service was par for the course for the area: typically we'd be sat 20 mins in any restaurant before our order was taken, after being stodd for at least 5 mins at the "please wait to be seated" area, watching staff chatting to each other.
The inside of this place might be completely different and to be fair the drinks service was alright (still quite slow). But the laziness...
Read moreI've never seen something like that. The prices for all of the dishes they have are out of space! For a Pizza with tomato sauce and cheese we almost paid 14 euro and just to remind, we are in Portugal (not even in Lisbon) !! CRAZY, REALLY CRAZY. The beer (0,5l) costs 5 euro! I mean ... what?! And the best was, we ate the ice cream with fresh fruits for dessert, it normally comes with one coup and like 5 little pieces of apple and mango and it costs 5 euro. So far so good. I asked the waitor if i can get three different flavors, he said yes so that was it. They charged me 2,80 euro for each flavor, so in total i paid almost 11 euro for that dessert! After i paid i told the waitor that this is far too much, so he apologized and we got 2 ice tea "for free". That was nice at least, this is why i give them 2 points. Well, all in all the food was ok, really nothing special and the prices are insaine! Just to compare: yesterday we went to a steak restaurant in lisbon, also ate starter, main and dessert, but drank cocktails and red wine and paid 20 euro less than here! Sorry but...
Read moreThe restaurant was empty, while people sat on others nearby - this was the first signal of alarm. The second bad sign was that the teables were litteraly dusty and had missmatching and unclean glasses placed at almost all seatings.
The waiter was almost angry with us, especially if one had not decided what to order, when he asked.
But the main reason for a visit to a restaurant, is to eat. However, it was not a satisfying experience. The chicken was super dry, and not complemented with any kind of food that could have added some moisture. Nor had the hamburgers any sauce, ketchup or such anf the bread was not fresh at all. And the list goes on regarding unfulfilled food for consumption.
Well, the pizzas were actually ok, but that joy was shortlived when ordering caiperinkas to drink, they just used tequila instead....
One other situation was when one of us ordered a less expensive bottle of wine, they came with one four times more expensive.
The list could go on here, but I hope you get the point - avoid this place unless you get a kick of...
