Ofélia Art & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Tavira

I am absolutely appalled by the experience I had at this establishment, and I feel compelled to share it here to caution others. A fun evening out turned into a horrifying nightmare due to the sheer carelessness of the staff.

I ordered a Caipirinha, anticipating an enjoyable cocktail. Imagine my horror when I crunched down on what I thought was ice, only to discover it was, in fact, a large half of a broken glass inside! I was spittling out tiny shards of glass.

This is not only a clear violation of basic health and safety standards, but it also demonstrates a lack of attention to detail and overall negligence. I expect an establishment to take proper precautions to ensure the safety of its patrons, but this was far from the case.

I understand accidents happen, but this was beyond the pale. This incident was extremely careless and dangerous. I wholeheartedly urge management to address this issue immediately and implement proper safety measures to prevent such an appalling incident from occurring again.

I strongly advise potential patrons to consider their safety and think twice before visiting this...

Last night we stopped by this bar to get a cocktail and a small bite to eat. It was extremely busy but we were very willing to wait for a table. It was our anniversary and we wanted a nice cocktail in a sweet spot. We sat on the bench where we were instructed to sit and wait for a table. When we arrived there was one group of people ahead of us waiting for a table. Soon after we sat where we were instructed we watched a group walk up, a table and chairs from the neighboring restaurant was grabbed and that group was sat immediately. We shrugged it off, okay we were willing to wait for the next table. We watched a table right in front of us open up and a staff looked at us and we took it as indication that the table was for us. We were waiting for the table to be cleaned before we sat down and as we stood waiting another couple from the crowd on the sidewalk was seated. Brunch, a new expansion to this popular cocktail bar’s daytime menu is absolutely superb.

The french toast is large, crispy on the outside and moist below the cinnamon and sugar coated crust topped with a creamy cheese and homemade syrup.

The fruit bowl, often an overlooked side, is full of a variety of perfectly ripe fruits, tangy kiwi, sweet strawberries alongside blackberries, raspberries, peaches, grapes and apples, oh my!

The first course of eggs benedict were well seasoned, creamy hollandaise, light yet filling. The scrambled eggs on avocado spread toast, I’d take more whole avocado but good flavors overall, nonetheless.

The bloody mary is quite traditional in taste, while I prefer a bit more spice and thickness, most will be pleasantly happy. Add more garnish and it’d be a solid 9/10.

All in all, we’ll be back on the regular and look forward to exploring the rest of the egg dishes along with their stacks...
