AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
I'm usually generous with my food reviews as most of you know. But this stall is really too much. We ordered the YTF 1st but felt the portion was small, so decided to try their kway chap too. Because we ordered separately, I first paid my YTF by Paylah. After we ordered more kway chap & I wanted to pay, the lady boss (just guessing but who else would put her selfie on the signboard?) SCOFFED & LAMENTED why caNt we order & pay TOGETHER? Like hello, I order more food & pay u more money also get scolded?! I scan your Paylah qr code also no need YOU to lift another finger & my money gets straight into YOUR bank account?! As if I owe her money for getting MORE food from HER?!
So the YTF was really meh (Pls just go to 928 at the end of the street - they're the OG & friendlier peeps - don't even bother here - to think I wanted to really try, NOT EVEN ANY COMPARISON WORTHY), & the kway was thick, lumpy, not even properly cooked evenly. The plate was a huge mess & we couldn't even tell what's what on the plate - defo the worst plated kway chap we've ever had. So we ordered 6 kinds of offals/internals/meat that didn't include duck, but lo & behold, we found DUCK SLICES in our plate, so we questioned the lady boss if she overcharged us by giving us something we DIDNT order. Instead of apologising, she was so defensive & insisted that we ordered it when we didn't. Hello, how would we NOT know what we ordered especially now we CHOSE the parts we wanted! The food was already cmi but their attitude effed us off even more. In the end, she refunded us $3 RELUCTANTLY, still without apologising - & to be honest, the amount of duck sure looked like more than $3 worth, plus our offals ended up to a couple slices each only.
NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN! There're other food choices around this area - no need to put up with less than average food & such eff attitude here.
had a less than desireable meal last week i cant really comment on the food..and also dun really to touch on it..its just didnt feel right after the stall holder showed such arrogance apparently they are runned by a family business, father mother son and uncles and aunties.
ordering is a shock. you hardly have choice. u are restricted to ordering by pax... we had wanted to sample everything...yong tau foo and kway chap and all first when ordering YTF.....they asked how many pax, i had to wrestle over this issue and tell them i would like to order more, they relented and allowed choice, order about $20 i guess, for 2 pax
kway chap.....had to again say that we would like to have choices....$ 14 for the same 2 pax. really love to try a bit of everything...but they had to behave as if they are like communist, only they can decide what u eat.... condiments and sauces.....imagine you being question as u collect as self service, " can u eat so much or not....?" it was just a average sauce dish per pax per type of sauce....
last straw was, being a little peckish even after thhe hearty meal.....wanted a bit more YTF.....as a repeat order....again i cannot get to choose...decided...enough is enough...left the place
one wonders whythey have to control
maybe they feel they need control or they need to dictate how we eat...... really...is that necessary....did their success or affluence get to them?
some food leave a lingering taste of desire to return
Beng cheng left a taste of bitter....gave a taste of crude service.....
then again...this is my own tots... hope for better luck elsewhere
When my gf and family was waiting for me to park my car. They keep insisting for them to buy food. After 2 times my gf decided to order drinks. Even after ordering the drinks they came back and insisted for my gf and family to buy food. My gf wanted to wait for me to order but they pestered them 4 times so my gf proceed to order.
Without telling how much is each item, they came to us and ask us pay $77.70 when we just took our 1st bite we just started eating. While we were eating the table next to us had finished their food then they ask for the bill so we were wondering why we were pestered to pay first before eating but the other table could enjoy meal then pay?
the other table ordered 1 plate..5person shared but my family of 4 ordered 3 plates of yongtaufu, kwaychap and crispy food I can't understand how come my 3 dishes and drinks and rice can sum up to $77 too...
We asked them why we were forced to pay 1st whereas the other table can pay later?
An older Chinese auntie gave unreasonable excuses and said to us...next time U don't want pay first can pay later lo...very rude reply.
And then after that confrontation she started to speak loudly to each table to make us hear that she collect money from others first before eating.
We felt that we were treated differently bcos my gf n family is a non Chinese..
