The kids request for mookata and here we are after googling for mookata and select this place purely because of the positive reviews.
First thing first if your driving parking is an big issue. If your not den there is public transport such as buses or train services. Very convenient and prominent location along main road visibility quite high.
Canteen like decor and table in the stall. If the food is good to compensate for the decor I'm perfectly fine. Pretty decent for the quantity of food served but the quality are just average. Notice they served very thinly meat cut but it's well marinated.
Second are the cutlery and services. The chill sauce are top with chopped garlic which is decent. But the plate containing the chilli was a joke. It's a left shape plate which I find it too narrow to use and I I helped myself to a round metal plate for my next serving of chilli sauce.
The beer was served only in chill bottles without glasses or ice cube. We need to ask for 2 glass and ice cube. The service was just average given the amount of patron during this time.
Place was not well ventilated so by the time we finish our meal, we feel smelly and oily. Overall 3 stars for the meat marination and chilli sauce. Other than that just normal mookata. Probably won't return again. Not sure why the rating...
Read moreCame here for dinner. Food tastes pretty ok. Garlic chicken ($10.90) and pork belly ($10.90) we also ordered the set $39.90 (and the lady was worried we will not order the min. order of $80 (as this is food only exclude drinks, rice and noodle).
The set wise meat portion is ok but vegetable was very little, so we ordered more vegetable and mushrooms as well.
They are well staffed (but they said they were short of staff - my point was the drinks was ready, why nobody bother to go to the fridge and just take for us?) but when we add on drinks and food after the first order (with 3 reminders), the food took 20 min to come, drinks took 30 min to come. When the drinks came it was the wrong one, so I went there to collect myself instead as it took 2 more reminders and the drinks did not come.
The bbq is metal type so when it is charred, they will not change for you. So if you are particular, then this place might not be for you. (The guy said when you put the meat on top, the charred pieces will not stick on the meat) but we had no choice as we alr ordered more meat to hit the min. order of $80 excluding drinks, rice and noodle.
We had to order min. of $80 because we choose to sit outside which is a slightly bigger table for 5 pax adults, so as to sit comfortably.
But if you are a group of 5 sitting outside it is very warm. Only 1 out of the 3 table outside had a fan. So just...
Read moreFor a mookata spot, they've definitely got their ops nailed very well. But as someone who doesn't like to smell bad after meals, this is unfortunately still not a spot for me and my dates; with school friends, maybe.
Food wise, just get the Mookata set, and you'll not go wrong with missing out any of the good items. If you're a vegetable freak like me, make sure you order more Chinese cabbage too. Play around and interpret however you'd like to enjoy your food, whether it's to bbq the meats or to have them in your soup; whether it's the other way around; it's ultimately up to you to enjoy the Thai smokeless charcoal grill.
I thoroughly appreciate the fact that the team is relatively helpful, on the ball, and they know their stuff. With so many possible permutations and variations with the menu and asks, it's very easy to fall short of providing things to your patrons.
They are also smart about how they've designed their seating arrangements, with long benches instead of standard restaurant tables (round or otherwise). This allows them to accommodate a lot more patrons, and it's much more efficient.
All in all, personally it's nothing fancy, nothing unique. Many people may have called out their meat marinades. But honestly it's something that with a teppanyaki hotpot grill at home, you're able to diy as well (except you've to also deal...
