Been going for the half price sushi at this location for a long time but over the past 2 months the service has drastically dropped. Quality of food has dropped beyond measure. The sushi sizes are clearly going through recession.
Last Thursday, we went for our usuals, and what we received was very disappointing. The prawns ontop of the sushi had be fried up then cut it t half. So instead of getting 4 full fried prawns on the sushi we pretty much got 2 prawns on a 4 piece order. We notified our waiter who told us they had run out of prawn becos the shop was busy. This is after we had waited for our order for 1h15mins. We asked to speak to the supervisor who agreed that it was not meant to be that way and offered that when we come next Thursday, she’d have them prepare our order for us, on the house. We decided okay let’s give them one last try. We called in yesterday and placed our usual order. On arrival, we told our waiter about the supervisor’s offer from last week as she had said she’d leave a note. No one seemed to be aware of such note or arrangement and the supervisor present was also clueless. He called the other lady supervisor and it was sorted.
Bill time came and the bill had items we had not ordered worth R94. We told our waiter who tried to scam us further saying no the sushi on the house had been subtracted from the bill. Which was incorrect. They had noted Hot prawn tempura x5 when in fact we had only had 3 and 3 other types. My sister had to bring out her phone and do a physical calculation. The apologies came but I had almost paid had it not been of my sister’s attention to detail. She noticed the bill was almost as high as it normally would be if we’d ordered a bottle of wine, but we had not.

Read moreThe desire to satisfy my Asian palate was rewarded by a rather well flavored/colorful linguine noodle Thai style chicken dish (which was ordered spicy hot) and as I was more than just peckish, I quickly devoured the offering... a feeling of disappointed and satisfaction washed over me at the table, wondering what had just happened...I obviously wanted more!
I rated the portions somewhere between 3 and 4 (the portand the overall experience as far as service, quality of product and customer interaction, I rated them a full 5.
When the very attentive and caring customer oriented staff viewed my polarized state, I gently said that it would have been nice to have had a little more and said that I would probably top it up with a piece of KFC afterwards. They gently explained to me that the portions are determined by head office.
I was not expecting the waitress and junior manageress to act and they quickly set out to remedy the situation. A short while later their gratis dish arrived and was equally as tasty and satisfying as the Linguine, the cashew nut chicken noodle dish was savored at a relaxed pace.
I decided to make a festive hog of myself and surrended to a Thai style fried banana and ice cream...yummy!
My waitress Rebecca was absolutely fantastic wonderful and Loveness the manageress expressed a professional attitude that other managers in their respective fields could well do to emulate.
