Since March of 2025, The Hatter's Tea Garden is under new owners, with an updated menu including child-friendly and pet-friendly goodies available. Yes, you read that correctly, well-behaved canines and cats are now not only welcome, but there is a Paws & Whiskers Pet Menu from which healthy treats can be ordered. As usual, pets are to be on a leash, and you are to clean up after your pet's litter. The Hatter also undertakes functions, and is open from Monday through Saturday 0700 to 1600, and Sundays and Public Holidays from 0900 to 1400. They also bake goods available for sale - you can also order in advance to ensure you get what you want on a given day. Chairs are comfortable with cushions, and they have blankets available for when a sharp morning wind blows on a cold day. Portions are generous, and the original charm of this whimsical place is unaltered. So do bring yourself, kids, and well-socialised pets and check out the new menu. WiFi is available, and solo diners are made to feel welcome. They also have a small bathroom in the lower garden so you do not necessarily have to go to the Mall; for those with disabilities, there are appropriate toilets in the nearby Mall. There is a ramp coming down from the parking to the Hatter's Tea Garden so those using wheelchairs can access this...

This discovery was a magical treasure of a tea garden! So disguised, that it needs a big BOLD sign on Google Maps because it absolutely “made” me my elderly Father's Day yesterday!!! We have ‘Daddy Date Day’ every week as he has late-stage AML and it takes a week to recover from an outing, but it’s his highlight. We were treated like royalty! When my dad got cold they even broke open a brand new sealed blanket to cover him with. The coffee was First class, the service was 5 star and the food was out of this world! We found a gold mine! (I might take a wheelchair next time due to the steep descent) The ambience was soothing, the décor was eclectic but harmonious and so spot on to the theme of “The Mad Hatter”! I HIGHLY...

Such a sweet little spot in an unusual place - at the end of a parking lot and down some stairs. You feel like you've entered a whole new world. I had a wonderful cappuccino with an amazing carrot cake for R65 on a special. A nice menu making me want to go back and try it again. My chair was a little uncomfortable - but I did see a nice couch in the corner where someone was sitting...

With oodles of charm and character, The Hatters Tea Garden is an absolute delight. Leon is as delightful as the venue, ensuring we were comfortable and fed in a jiffy. The space is whimsical and ecclectic, with stunning views if you choose to sit outdoors. One can taste the love that goes into the baked treats by Happiness, and you cannot help but leave this mysterious place happy!
