I have always enjoyed Fishaways fresh grilled fish and have bought from this particular branch many times. But today I had a most horrific experience. I noticed what looked like flour on my fish, and when I went to enquire about it I had 2 of the staff members attack me (Anathi and another girl who refused to give her name), while the utterly incompetent manager (Stanley), stood by and let the altercation continue. They insisted that they ALWAYS dust their fish in flour before grilling it (which was a complete surprise for me because it's just not standard practice in the cooking world to do that). Also, on all the occasions I have bought grilled fish here, I have never seen any flour on it. So they argued with me about MY experience, basically invalidating my claims and essentially implying that I am a liar. By 19:45 our order had not arrived and we phoned to check if it was on its way. The gentleman who answered the phone said he would check and get back to us. Needless to say he did not. Fifteen minutes later we phoned again. The lady we spoke to said our order had not been processed as they were very busy. This was a very weak excuse and we cancelled the order. This is not the first time that this has happened and I find it totally unacceptable. The fish is good but not worth the stress and disappointment.

Read moreAfter having had two bad experiences with Fishaways in the Boord, Stellenbosch last year, for which they refunded me after a lot of complaining (who wants to complain if you only want to go and pick up a simple meal and have it at your house?), I decided to give them a go again tonight.
The estimated time for the food to be prepared was 18:26. I arrived there at 18:40 and my food was still not ready (it was a simple order). I was treated rather rudely at the counter when I told the staff member without a name plaque that the app had said that that my food was ready.
I waited until 19:00. By then I was fuming but quiet. The lady in question handed over the food without so much as an apology. I told her that she could, at least, have apologised.
At home I discovered that my two cole slaws were not in the bag.
