I sincerely hope this review highlights the lack of effort and care that was evident throughout our visit.
We booked a table two weeks in advance for 12:30 PM. Upon arriving at 12 PM, we were told the table wasnât readyâunderstandable at that point. However, by 12:20, it still wasnât ready. By 12:45, we were still waiting, despite the restaurant operating at less than 50% capacity. We were finally seated close to 1 PM, only because we required a specific table for our group.
The service that followed was no better. Drinks took around 20 minutes to arrive, and reorders faced the same delay. Food took over an hour to arrive, and dishes for our group came staggered, 20â30 minutes apart. This meant some guests had already finished their meals by the time others were served. For context, we mainly ordered saladsâhow it could take over an hour to prepare a salad is beyond comprehension.
As for my meal, I ordered the crispy chicken burger, which was so dry it could have rivaled the Sahara Desert. The menu promised sauces, yet there were noneâno mayo, no ketchup, no âspecial sauce,â nothing. Additional requests, such as âno garnishâ or âno tomato,â were blatantly ignored, and meals were served however the kitchen decided.
When some of our group asked for takeout boxes, they simply never received their food. We inquired and were asked to describe who had taken itâas if it were our responsibility to track their staff. After that, a vague attempt was made to âcheck in the kitchen,â but no one followed up. It felt like the staff lacked basic training or accountability.
To make matters worse, the restaurantâs cleanliness was unacceptable. The ceiling windows were covered in cobwebs, and seating areas still had confetti stuck to them, likely from a previous party.
Overall, this experience was an immense disappointment. This is a prime location, yet it feels wasted on a restaurant that seems to rely on unsuspecting tourists who, more often than not, leave the country without leaving reviews. For those considering visiting, I strongly urge you...
Read moreWe were deeply disappointed with the standard and quality of service we received at this establishment. From start to finish, the experience fell far below expectations.
Upon arriving, we ordered our first round of drinks, which took a few minutes to arrive not an issue initially. However, things quickly went downhill. One of my friends ordered a glass of merlot to pair with their steak, expecting it to arrive alongside the meal. Unfortunately, the food came, but the wine did not. After waiting 25 minutes, we asked about the wine and were then informed that the ordered bottle was unavailable.
Another friend ordered a cocktail that took an excessive amount of time to arrive. Following our meal, my friend and I ordered two glasses of martini prosecco. The waiter returned to inform us that all opened bottles were flat but promised to fetch a sealed one. To our disbelief, the waiter later relayed that the manager claimed the flat prosecco was acceptable because âshe could still feel the bubbles.â This was both puzzling and frustrating, as we know how prosecco should taste. We ended up settling for the Cederburg Chenin which we had ordered a bottle of it initially.
By this point, we expected a manager to address the situation proactively, but no one came until we specifically requested it. A male manager eventually arrived, listened to our concerns, and apologized, admitting he was not involved in the prosecco incident. We then asked to speak to the female manager who had tasted the prosecco. After a long wait, we were informed that Jessica Renns, the manager in question, was too busy with admin work to attend to patrons.
As we were preparing to leave, Jessica finally appeared, listened to our complaints, and apologized for her behavior. However, by this time, the damage was done. Despite the apology, the entire experience left us with a bitter taste and a clear understanding of the poor service standards at this establishment.
We had high expectations, but sadly, this visit was a disappointment we wonât...
Read moreHow long does it take to receive your takeaway in a half empty restaurant? Until yesterday I thought this was a simple answer but after my experience at La Parada, well no Iâll never know. please note I will not be sharing my personal contact details with you should you wish this to be resolved you are welcome to provide me with an appropriate email and I will be in touch.
We booked a table two months in advance for a surprise birthday lunch for a friend. Of course that surprise was bitterly spoiled because our table took 30 minutes for the staff to prepare. We ended up having to do the surprise tucked away in the corner of the restaurant at a table that fit about half of us while the rest awkwardly stood around trying their best not to get in the staffs way. When we were eventually seated out service was shocking, many many requests forgotten, and overall for a table of 15 just completely neglected. We were forced to walk over to the bar and place our own orders. I asked the other staff multiple times if our waitress could check on us because I could clearly see people getting upset. I only ate half my meal, so when they cleared the plates I requested it to be placed in a takeaway. I suppose the waiter assumed it was for herself because I never received the remaining half of my meal. I reminded her as the bill arrived only to receive a shocked expression, she assured me it was on its way but time went by and nothing. I gave up on receiving the remaining food I had paid for and left. In some twisted way maybe that was best because I ended up spending the rest of the evening on my knees by the toilet, never having felt more sick in my life, even today I am still in recovery. So should I be grateful they never returned my food? Maybe it was for the best. I do not recommend the food, I do not recommend the service, and quite frankly I do not recommend La Parada,...
