The House Restaurant — Restaurant in Arona

I have been to this restaurant 3 times. Two years ago, on my first visit to Tenerife, my partner and I stumbled upon this place and had the most delicious food. Service was impeccable and there was nothing that they could do to make our visit more special. This was our first night, and the food was so special that we decided to spend our last evening here. Two years later and it has changed. The welcoming maître d' was gone and we chose our own table. I guess, in a way to increase efficiency, the waiters had gone to touch screen devices instead of handwritten, which genuinely slowed processes instead of speeding them up. Previously, the starter of garlic bread was two large slices smothered in topping. Tonight it was three small slices which had a dusting of tomato and mozzarella. Two of our four had a very well cooked steak, with very good accompanying sauces. I had a mixed grill, in which my steak was overdone, and our other guest had a steak in bearnaise sauce where the flavour of the meat was overcome with tarragon. Certainly a lovely place and 2 years ago would have got 5 stars, but compared to the other places to eat on this island and based on my most recent visit, only 3. I am a chef and I am very picky! The service second to none, looked after by floor boss, the food I had tornedose rossini, wife had some chilli chicken dish ,and bairn pasta bolognaise, the plates were full, additional veg, chip's pots, all arrived in perfect sync! Wine was lovely bottle for me and glass for wife, during our beautiful meal, the table next to us ordered a mixture of locals and visitors , they ordered fruit de mer, and let's just say the 4 of them got tucked into the largest serving of this dish I have seen ever, it was beautifully presented. You will not find better for a relaxing evening dining under the stars, the atmosphere was dk relaxing we had an extra couple of wines, the price was very reasonable, and left a nice show of appreciation. Had a very enjoyable family dinner here last night. Great atmosphere dining outside on a small side street. We were very well looked after by all the fantastic staff who were so friendly and attentive. Beautifully fresh dishes and the best steak I have had during our visit to Los Cristianos. Menu is extensive which would sometimes worry me Ré quality of the dishes but all of our meals were excellent. I thought it was amazing value, Dinner for 5 people, including fresh fish, steak, pasta carbonara, huge rack of meaty ribs, glass of wine, 3 beers, 4 soft drinks, a coffee and ice cream for the kids, all for €97!!
