Firebug — Restaurant in Barcelona

Review 1. Stopped by late on Sunday night and couldn’t have been happier we did…given the great food, vibe, music and wonderful staff. The waitresses were incredibly warm, welcoming and attentive. Our Burger, Asian Salad and Japanese Wings were delivered quickly and above all delicious…kudos to the kitchen! Although we only drank beer, we watched the bartender whip up some beautiful and tasty looking cocktails that we’ll absolutely sample on our next visit(s) back. Looking forward to trying their brunch too but planning another late night “drop in” asap.

Review 2. So after spending a week in Barcelona (and staying at a Hotel near Firebug) we ended up eating at Firebug a total of (4) times including a brunch. My wife and I decided, why look for what we've already found...a great spot for great food and drinks no matter what time of day/night. After being blown away after our first visit we decided on another late night "stop in" and everything was on par with our first trip to Firebug. (see Review 1). We did a brunch soon after which was as good if not better than advertised. Both subsequent visits were just as good as the last. Great service, great food, great music and great vibes.

If you stop in when Dora and Chloe are working consider yourself extremely lucky. Simply put "they are awesome!" They're knowledgeable, pay attention to detail and are hard workers. Above all, their great energy and positive vibes make for a great time and set the tone for the entire restaurant. They and the entire kitchen and bar staff are to be commended. We miss you Firebug already and cant wait to see you again when we get back...

Firebug has always been one of my favourite places in Barcelona. Aside from it's great location and it's lovely, laid-back atmosphere, the food is really really great! There are so many places in Barcelona that are so try-hard and "trendy", it's nice to have this gem of a place in comparison. I decided to book my friend's baby shower here and when I did the management messaged me back and forth trying to ensure I have all my needs met! They were incredibly professional and wonderful throughout. On the day we had such a lovely time. Service was excellent. We had such a nice team of people serving us, taking fotos of us and keeping up with all our little requests for special dietary requirements. The food as always was delicious (the very berry banana smoothie and the brownie are to die for). For anyone who needed it they also spoke perfect English. I am so pleased I booked for us to go there and I'm so pleased this place exists and I can go back to it...

I had the Mediterranean bagel and although the food looked absolutely beautiful, I was kind of disappointed on the bagel itself because it was extremely hard as in: or it had been lightly toasted a long time ago or it had been lightly toasted the day before. The combination, however, of the flavors in the food was good. I also asked for a popeye’s punch and asked if there was any alternative to the soya milk and there wasn’t. This makes me think they might have the smoothie premade as well or they don’t have a soya milk replacement which isn’t great if you are intolerant (although there were other options on the menu without soya). Overall enjoyed it but I don’t think I would go back. Perhaps just a bad day, not sure ! Also, as mentioned, food looked beautiful but the paper under the food eventually ripped, so I pushed to the side to not eat the paper by accident, perhaps the paper is just an extra that is not needed, although I...
