Golfo de Bizkaia Pi — Restaurant in Barcelona

While wandering solo through the Gothic Quarter, I stopped in for a quick brunch. There’s a hot menu and also self-serve little bites. I had a beer and picked 3 delicious looking bites. All 3 were marvelous!!!! I had a mini baguette with prosciutto, a toasted bread with seafood salad, and a toasted bread topped with salmon. The mini baguette tasted as expected -but the toasted breads had delicious flavors that were fresh, clean, and savory. Topped off with a beer, it was a great little lunch! The small bites are 2,10€ each and the beer was 2,50€. I noticed you can find small bites for cheaper elsewhere (1,25€) -but if you look closely, they are NOT the same quality and are not as exquisitely crafted. There was a large group here when we arrived - I don't want to assume, but they seemed very difficult, and stressing the server out. He took our order, explained how the food self service worked, and then had to dash back to deal with this large group. There was a delay, not huge, but still a delay, in getting our wine. We weren't mad at all, but the server when he brought our wine was so apologetic and sweet that if we had been, it would have cleared any ill feelings. To follow up, he came back a few minutes later with some complimentary croquettes for the delay!

Charming little restaurant with the friendliest staff. Small plates are continuously brought out from the kitchen of delicious little tapasy morsels each with a toothpick in them, And you pay by the number of toothpicks on your plate at the end. More substantial meals are available from the menu but if it's hot you'll probably just want small things to pick at with a cold drink. A lovely environment that feels welcoming and cozy, staff all speak perfect English which helps idiots like me who can't get my head around even...
