A few weeks ago I visited this restaurant, I had been wanting to go for a while so when some friends mentioned they were going I jumped in! There are some reasons why I have given them only 2 stars and I’m going to listen them: The service - When we arrived were offered to wait for our table in the bar while everyone arrived, which I thought was a nice detail on their part. Once at the table everything changed. Two waiters attended us, one of them kind of knew what he was doing, but the other one was all over the place. The wine bottles were put far away from our table and we had to keep getting up to pour our own drinks. If they were not supposed to pour them, they should’ve just put them in the table. Taking the orders was a mess, they didn’t know what was included in our menu and each of them gave us different information. The food - to be short, I expected a whole lot better for the price. The starters were completely flavorless, we had to ask for sal, pepper, olive oil and vinegar in order to season our food. The main dishes were ok, nothing out of the ordinary. The only thing that stood out was one of the deserts, which is actually made by Escriba (a famous pastry spot in Barcelona). Overall - The place looks great and I think if they put a little more effort into the service and the food they could improve a LOT! I really wanted to like this place because I heard very good things, but I guess people just go to take a picture and that’s it. Very disappointing, I don’t think I’ll be...
Read moreI had my experience at Dos Besos last year August. I know it’s super late but I don’t want to pass without leaving my review even if it’s late. Me and my friends were looking for a place to celebrate my birthday so while walking around, we saw Dos Besos and the server is looked very nice and simple. The reception lady showed us around. Her mood seemed a bit off and then on, she was answering calls while we were still asking her about reservation for 9 people. But finally we divide to go there and it was a huge disappointment!!! Aesthetically, it was very beautiful but food was salty and flavorless. Since we resrved prior, we were expecting the table would be setup, but now it was just the table and chair as if they didn’t care.(the first picture is a table set up we saw when we were passing which actually made us reserve but no it was just empty chair and table, no efforts made) But the 2 male waiters were absolutely sweet. They rly made up for most of it. But the worst part of all was that we had told the receptionist to prepare cake and fire works as it was a birthday celebration but they forgot and didn’t prepare anything. So my friends had to request to do something last minute and they brought cake and fireworks which the cake was good (the only thing that was good).
Overall service from the receptionist was super bad, food was okay 👎🏽 I would never go back at all....
Read moresaw an ig post and was excited to try this restaurant, it didn’t live up to the hype unfortunately. all staff were friendly, but the food was lackluster, didn’t leave me wanting to come back at all. wasn’t sure what the entertainment would be, but the singer came in mid-way through the meal and sang a few songs here and there - don’t get me wrong, she was fantastic. why have two seating times and charge people for cancellation if it’s not a full “show”? i see a lot of other posts with mentions of the server’s name, but ours didn’t add the experience in any way so i’ll leave that out.
the food: their take on vitello tonnato i did thoroughly enjoy. the bruschetta was also quite delicious, but why have such big tomato halves? made an already difficult dish to eat even more challenging. the risotto, which i was looking forward to the most, was undercooked. the risotto itself was a tad more than al dente, i had a few bites and didn’t finish - really wasn’t digging the langoustine and sea urchin flavors. according to my dining partner, they really enjoyed the bigoli pasta because it was perfectly al dente and flavorful. in the end, we were sold on their dos besos dessert which was too sweet.
such a small detail but does affect your experience, the table was too low...
