Xuba Tacos | Time Out Market Barcelona — Restaurant in Barcelona

There is no air conditioning in the mall. Not Xuba's fault, but there is a lot of seating outside on the terrace. But when it is 30C degree's outside.... If the weather was nicer or the mall had AC I would leave 4 stars for Atmosphere, at the end it is a mall, and I was hot and sweating, and it is not even August.

The service was normal. No complaints, also not special.

The food was edible, but not special. 13€ for 3 arrachera tacos. The meat was tender, but there was no smokey flavor, or any flavor really except for the salsa they put on them (pico de gallo?). I got the 3 salsa combo for 1.5€ , 1, was ketchup, 1 was a green salsa, that was overpowered by cilantro, but not bad, and the third was a holy Batman hot. I liked it, but they probably should warn people. And I got a guacamole €5. It was acceptable, a little lime juice and cilantro would have improved it considerably, it was though the best value of my order, my complaint was the ratio of chips to guacamole. After eating the few chips they served with it, 1/2 the guacamole remained... In the end, it cost me almost 20€, and that did not include a drink. And I was not full.

I came for the tacos, as probably most Time Out followers, to see what some Michelin star chefs could do with humble Mexican food. Unfortunately they played it safe. This is food...

Recientemente tuve el placer de disfrutar de una experiencia culinaria en Xuba Tacos, y debo decir que el restaurante superó con creces mis expectativas. Fui con un grupo de amigos y probamos varios de sus platos, cada uno más sorprendente que el anterior.

Solomillo Rossini con foie y salsa de trufa

Este plato fue, sin duda, el protagonista de la noche. La combinación de un solomillo jugoso con el delicado foie era un festival de texturas y sabores. Un plato que no puede faltar para los amantes de la carne y la cocina gourmet.

Cochinita Pibil Un clásico de la cocina mexicana, pero con el toque especial de Xuba Tacos. La cochinita estaba tan bien marinada que los sabores ahumados y cítricos se percibían en cada bocado.

Taco de Lubina Este taco fue una grata sorpresa. La lubina, fresca y bien cocinada, era ligera pero sabrosa, con un toque de frescura que la hacía destacar entre los otros platos.

Tostada de Atún con Huevitas de Trucha

Otro plato que merece una mención especial fue la tostada de atún. El atún estaba perfectamente cortado y se notaba la calidad del producto junto con las huevitas de trucha.

En resumen, Xuba Tacos es un restaurante que sabe combinar lo tradicional con lo innovador, ofreciendo una experiencia gastronómica que deleita tanto a los fanáticos de la cocina mexicana como a quienes buscan algo más sofisticado.
