Passion Vara de Rey — Restaurant in Ibiza

This was such a cute little spot to check out for an early lunch while walking around in shopping district/downtown ibiza. We found a nice spot on the outside patio since it was such a beautiful day out.

the menu was also in English so it was not hard to look over and order. It's also on their website via QR code! All their stuff sounded healthy and delicious! I ordered the superfood chocolate smoothie but it wasn't sweet enough for me! way too healthy hahah. my friends ordered their latte and it was good.

We ordered the pesto eggs & toast, avocado toast, cod Benedict, and one of their breakfasts. The pesto eggs were a little dry to my liking, and hoped it had a little more pesto to it. Their breakfast plate and avocado toast were delicious but nothing that I haven't tasted before. The cod Benedict was a crowd favorite though -- crispy and soft and quite flavorful.

the staff here was very polite and did not hesitate to help us. The ones that helped us knew a bit of English so it was easy to converse with them.

We walked inside to use their restroom and interior decor was beautiful, light and airy. It made us debate if we should have sat inside instead!

I would recommend this place for people who enjoy superfood healthy options! Although it is not my cup of tea, I see that they have a variety of yummy sounding things to try, such as power bowls and smoothies. I would not mind...

Soooooo... Passion Caffè is a certainty in the island but...its staff not. While you have the guarantee about the fresh delicious food served everyday, the lovely and elegant flatware and dishes, and the high prices too - but they are ok because i.e. a simple tostada isn't just a simple tostada is almost a brunch - you can't have the guarantee of have a breakfast on time.

I've been there many times, usually in the morning and while the opening hours are well indicated on the web site, you can arrive there and listen to the staff that tells you: " Look in the menu and I'll come back in 10 minutes 'cause we are closed." Closed?! At 9.50 in the morning? So at what time do you think I can have breakfast? 🤔 So what do you write on the web site? Or in the updating you did on Google.

Well. For me this is the only but important sore point. Surely the owner, who's a great person - she runs 5 Passion café on the island - will be disappointed... But we know...we are in Ibiza. And while in the city centre the opening hours are not always respected in passion cafe of Playa den Bossa It could be that you have to wait an hour to be served....

The inside is nice looking, the food is good, and te location is great, however... First we had to wait 15 mins. outside just to be seated (while it wasnt busy at all, keep in mind we where told to wait outside), then another 20 mins. to place an order, in total, we waited 1 hour until we got breakfast on our table (2 toasts, 2 coffees and 2 juices). The waitress was super rude and very uninterested, it looked like she wanted to be somewhere else. All this while the place was half empty... The price is a bit high, specially for the experience we had. Even to pay we had to wait way to long, the waitress litteraly trew the bill on the table, said nothing and just walked away, we paid and so did we, never going...
