A very disappointing experience!
This was the second time of visiting Sea Club. Our first visit was as a guest of family staying at the Hotel.
We decided to treat some Spanish friends to lunch to celebrate their marriage the previous week, Sea Club seemed a good place for a celebration lunch.
I didn't appreciate being told to wait 15 mins for a club car to take us down to the restaurant on arrival, and we were not even offered a glass of water while we waited. I had emailed prior to our booking to request an outside table, with shade, this was given.
Once seated, water was brought to the table, but then all service disappeared, my husband eventually left the table to find someone to take a drinks order, not great!
Eventually they took our food orders (we hadn't even had a drink at this point), so it was all a bit rushed, but we dare not ask them to give us 5 mins, we might never see them again!
Once starters had arrived, I asked for a bowl to put my mussel shells in, and more bread was requested, neither arrived.
When mains came (a rather bland looking rice dish for our vegetarian guests) and sea bass for hubby and I.
At £80 for the two of us we had high expectations, the minuscule fillet on our plate (not well served, it looked a mess on the plate) was presented without the chips or salad we had ordered. We waited a good 5 mins for a small undressed and uninspired salad to arrive on a side plate, and 9 chips in a bowl (this was to be shared between us both, unbelievable).
She was looking for some space to put the chips and salad, and I suggested she remove my old mussel shells and lid from the serving dish (both still sat uncleared on the table from our starters).
When we had all finished (it didn't take long), they came back to ask if our guests would like the remainder of the rice, surely this should have been done before we had had finished our food?
We request more water and wine, it never arrived. I eventually left the table to go to the loo, I asked the two guys at the bar if someone could offer service at our table, they still hadn't arrived by the time I returned to the table.
Service was really shocking, and food was edible at best, we didn't want to cause a scene as we had guests, and stupidily we paid a service charge, I shall be emailing the hotel with my concerns, but I doubt I will...
Read moreOur experience with Cap Rocat was NOT PLEASANT for the following reasons:
TOP REASON: THE SERVICE - TATIANA
1- The staff at the hotel entrance was really welcoming, polite and professional. Me and my husband had a very nice chat with the golf cart driver on the way down to the restaurant. Arrived at the restaurant (lovely view btw) we found 2 waitresses with a bit of an attitude (the rest of the staff was nice tho). That didn’t really bother us although so it wasn’t really an issue. The problem started when at the end of the dinner my husband asked for the check while covering his mouth as he was chewing his last bite. The waitress, her name is TATIANA, pretended not to understand him while giving him a really bad attitude since she was bothered by the fact that he was eating. Therefore I politely told her that he was asking for the check. Following that she switched the language from English to Spanish and started badmouthing and giving a whole attitude to my husband in Spanish multiple times to his face thinking we couldn’t understand Spanish. Little did she know that Spanish is my native language so I could actually understand EVERYTHING she was saying. So at the THIRD time she talked down on my husband I called her out on it and on her attitude. From that point onward she “completely changed” and started being all smiles, polite and “nice”, but at that point our dinner was already over and we left the restaurant with a bad experience. Just because of this terrible service if I could I would give my review 0 stars. Incredibly unprofessional of them.
PROS
1- The food is good but it’s not like “mind blowing” or anything too crazy, we have had better food. Also, their bread was terrible. The best food we had in Mallorca was definitely in Deià.
2- The view is very pretty and the ride on the way down to the restaurant with the golf...
Read moreWe booked a table at SEA CLUB for Saturday May, 28 2022 at 9pm. The appointment was postponed to 21.30 pm without consultation. (Just to inform you...") I would also like to mention that we had to deposit a fee of 30 euros per person so that we were even allowed to book the table. The crew at the gate was friendly, another team member brought us to the restaurant with a caddy. After ordering the drinks, no one noticed us for a while, we had to remind the waiters to order our food at 22:10 p.m. Everybody was extremely friendly and committed, although apparently overwhelmed. The order of 2 blankets (evening a little bit cool and lots of mosquitoes in the restaurant) was initially unsuccessful, after two reminders they were brought to us. The starter (asparagus) was terrific (but cold), the main course (rice with vegetables) was NOT GOOD at all. The biggest surprise after having dinner with a beautiful view on mallorca's tramuntana hills - around 11 p.m.: We wanted to take a very quick look at the hotel's grounds, but we were FORBIDDEN by a rude security guy. "His" Reason: Restaurant guests are only allowed to eat (!!!). We were forced to leave. No joke at all. A "great experience" for around 300 euros for 2 persons. We don't need this anymore. CAP ROCAT is remembered as a mixture of...
