La Vista Puerto de Mazarron — Restaurant in Mazarrón

Despite the beautiful location we had a really disappointing experience. We went with a group for a colleague's birthday and while the food was excellent and the band playing were good, the service was poor. When we arrived we were told bluntly that we had the wrong time and had to prove on a phone that we had the right time . We were told there were “no cocktails”, “no desserts (only ice cream”, “no sides” and we weren't to split the bill. When a colleague explained our disappointment to the owner, he was rude and winged about how he was 3 staff members down and that due to the rain he was making a loss and that we were being rude expressing our dissatisfaction. He gave no apology or acknowledgment and he didn’t seem to care that we had bought him business- 10 people eating and drinking. We visited for breakfast/brunch about 30 minutes after La Vista opened. We were immediately offered a table overlooking the beach under a shady palm tree. We were informed that our food order couldn't be taken for another 10 minutes due to the cooking schedule but this was fine, it was sunny and we ordered drinks. Once we ordered food, it arrived in reasonable time, which was fine as it was freshly cooked. We ordered 2 full breakfasts and an Eggs Royale. The food was very good and everyone enjoyed it. It did take a while for the tea/coffee to arrive which was included with the full breakfasts. Again, not a problem as we were happy to sit in the sunshine. Overall, happy with the food and service and a great location. I know La Vista is a fairly new venture and I wish them every success. We have eaten many times at LaVista, each time we have been amazed by the presentation and tastiness of the meal. The tapas was a delight, ploughman's very welcome on a hot Sunday afternoon, steak night, Sunday roast and Fish and Fizz Friday all outstanding. The staff are lovely and the setting perfect be it inside, beach or marina seating.
