We used to go to this place a lot before COVID, and used to send a lot of guests there when we owned a hotel near Malaga.

We went there after a long absence, and were hugely disappointed.

The service was never particularly quick here before, but now it is at a snail's pace. We sat outside for 10 minutes, and decided to go inside to order cakes and tea as we knew exactly what we wanted.

But oh, no. It doesn't work like that. They said we had to wait for a waiter, so went back to our table outside.

15 minutes later (no this is not a typo), no sign of anyone to take orders, so decided to leave and go elsewhere. I think they have taken the “Waiter” quite literally!!

It is a shame as their cakes are amazing, and the range of teas are second to none.

If you have an entire afternoon to sit and wait, and are not hungry, then try it out. Just remember, I...

La teteria is one of the best tea and coffee bars in Malaga. It is very busy most days around tea time. They are open most of the day including siesta time, from around 9:00 till around 11:00.

They have a great selection of coffees including decaf and a complete book full of teas and specialty teas made individually. You can also purchase old tin type tea pots and coffee pots.

Lots of clients take a coffee whilst waiting to get into the Picasso museum, but often forget to leave.

They have a wonderful range of home made cakes and tarts, sold by the slice, and be careful as the portions offered here are always on the very large size, good enough to share even by 3 people.

The fast and friendly service makes your visit a pleasure. It's a must visit place for the amazing variety of cakes and tarts, also typical morrocan...

Wandering back through the old town Jorvic spotted this café he saw in "The Lonely Planet" he read last week. We sat on a small outside area on a narrow pedestrian street. More seating inside where you can ogle the cakes. Decided on an Americano with a wine chaser. Great people watching spot to play " guess where the tourist is from!" ..The strange tourists next to us ordered lemonade and then wondered why there were no nuts in it. Wonder where in the world this is a thing! Enjoyable visit. Coffee 1.90€, wine 3€. Paulicarus says come again.
