Corazón de Agave — Restaurant in Sitges

We were on our way to a different restaurant but this place looked very inviting so we changed our plans and ate here. Service was slow to start as we were ignored by two members of staff. When the actual greeter arrived we were quickly seated and service really picked up. It was pleasant and friendly from all members of the team. Unfortunately, the service was the best thing about our visit. We ordered 2 portions of guacamole and chips between three; it arrived in a different dish to other tables and with far less chips. When (who I guess was) the owner realised we were almost out of chips she suggested more. We didn’t really want them but she was fairly insistent so we thanked her. Main courses were small and barely warm. I’m not sure if this is how they were meant to be but we would have preferred them hot. Flavours were fine but nothing overly exciting. When the bill arrived we realised that we had been charged €3 for the extra chips that we didn’t really want. Rather than cause a scene we paid up and left. Aquest restaurant és un veritable mexicà. Situat en un carrer de Sitges que dóna al passeig. El personal és amable, simpàtic i eficient. Tant la Maia com la mestressa, són encantadores!!!! L'ambient és agradable, la música està a un nivell còmode per poder parlar i conversar i la temperatura és idònia. Quan entreu al Corazón de Àgave trobareu les parets decorades amb il.lustracions perfectes i escollides amb molt bon gust, creades per un artista urbà (El Dios de los tres) . I ara si, ara us explico per què és BRUTAL. El menjar que ens ofereix l'equip del Corazón de Àgave, és un menjar que et transporta al Mèxic autèntic, amb l'afegit de que està elaborat amb molt d'amor i harmonia. En el meu cas, que no menjo animals, us puc dir que aquí menjo sense problemes. Comencem amb un guacamole espectacular, acompanyat de natxos casolans i nosaltres sempre demanem un extra de 'jalapeño', continuem amb uns 'elotes' deliciosos, jo sempre demano o bé les flautes de camote o bé els tacos de nopal... Deliciós tot! La meva parella en canvi, és omnívor, així que ell va alternant entre les 'costillitas', els tacos de bacallà i de més plats espectaculars que tenen a la seva carta. Tot això ho acompanyem d'unes delicioses i refrescants 'Micheladas'. Wowwww!!!! Aquesta beguda alcohòlica típica de Mèxic, està feta a base de cervesa, suc de tomàquet, picant, sal i ají. No us la podeu perdre, de debò! Us la recomano! I per fi parlem de preu. El corazón de Àgave no és un restaurant car si mires la qualitat de la seva matèria primera i de l'elaboració dels seus plats. Nosaltres acostumem a fer entre els dos: uns natxos amb guacamole per compartir, una michelada per cada un per beure, jo demano les flautes de camote, ell els tacos de bacallà i compartim un elote. Total: 50€ més o menys. Nosaltres, de ben segur, continuarem anant-hi. Ah! I molt important! Són pet friendly!!! Podeu anar-hi acompanyats del vostre amic peludet! Nosaltres ho fem! we came out of the blue; booked a table and had probably the worst table while the restaurant was 1/3 full. it did not smell like someone was cooking at all. service was very slow, if any useful.

worst to worst they don't serve fajitas, but focus on mussels and pulpo... margaritas are just a basic splash of lemon with some tequila and because it was just too bitter we could not drink it and decided on beer.... it was just not cold.

on the contrary food was cold... not freshly cooked...almost tasteless. we believe it was microwaved.

This restaurant is not a real Mexican, probably a tourist trap!

I'm sorry but not worth recommending...
