I choose to celebrate Mother’s day at this restaurant with my mom. Unfortunately we had a very bad experience. We were served by a lady from a reception. I Ordered a steak for 65chf and asked her how big it is. She showed me with her fingers how many cm she thinks it is. On which i replied that i meant how many grams?? Intead of asking someone who knows she said she thinks around 200g… weird but ok. Then the steak came well done. I told her that unfortunately the steak is well done and i wanted it medium rare. She told me that i did not metion it. Well i would if she just asked? And then she said her boss told her to order well done if the guest dont say anything. What kind of service is that? Why doesn’t the boss teach them to ask guests how they would like their steak to be cooked? Like is this a Mcdonald? Because the prices here are quite expensive. After my complaint she brought a new steak but since then did not come to our table anymore. And apparently she was in charge of our table because nobody came since then to ask if we need anything or want to order anything. Like maybe dessert or a coffee? NOBODY. And it was not even a busy evening. This is how the boss train their staff here. What a waste of money. Would not recommend. And from other reviews you can see this is quite...
Read moreThe concept and the venue are particular and well thought.
The staff is extremely kind and proactive, but no member of the staff has the seniority nor the experience to serve at such venue. You need ASAP senior staff with solid hotellerie background.
The food is extremely incoherent with dishes assembled with an unnecessary forced mix of flavours. The menu has no identity.
When the raw material is high quality: less is more!
Ex. The Jamon Iberico Is completely covered by the taste of the gruyère which is covered by the taste of the porcini. Bellota is to be savored for what it is, an explosion of taste. Gruyère and Porcini have nothing to do on top of it. Same goes for the stracciatella (beetroot, ginger?!?!). Iberico Pork should be a key dish, it was well cooked, but all the flavor was killed.
The croquetas and the sides were really well prepared. But you have to mention in the menu that the croquetas is a serving of one (would expect three, like everywhere else in the world).
Wine menu is badly assembled and extremely overpriced even for Zurich. Ex. I wanted to drink a Graubunden Pinto Noir, no bottle under 200 CHF.
Overall I believe the executive chef and the GM have a LOT to work on. You leave the venue without complimenting the dishes and not delighted by the...
Read moreWent there for a family lunch, 3 Pax. Unfortunately not what one should expect for such hefty prices. We had an overall disappointing experience.
Food: Had the Carpaccio followed by the Scallops. Nicely presented plates. However Carpaccio was too sweet and condiments covered taste of meat instead of elevating it. Scallops were perfectly seared but the sauce again did not accompany the taste of scallops well. Overall: disappointing
Service: Upon arrival we had a dirty wine glass as well as a badly polished wineglass on the table. Furthermore one of the water glasses was chipped. The waiter exchanged the glasses quickly nevertheless not really apologising. However he made it up with his winning personality and a fast and very capable service. (For middle Management: good charismatic upselling however at times a bit too pushy. Sorry, no name comes to mind)
Atmosphere: the restaurant gives a typical business lounge at an airport vibe. The acoustic is really bad and the carpet a disgrace. The accents over the kitchen and the table-leg are made of a material that gives me eye cancer.
I am usually a fan of Nenad's creations but this time was just...
