We were there to celebrate the 32nd wedding anniversary of my parents. Our party of four ordered the Smith and de Luma experience, and boy was it an "experience" indeed.

Of the three meats that were given, the secret cut was delicious and cooked to perfection. However, the same could not be said for the Black Angus Entrecôte, which was overcooked, and extremely dry.

Not wanting to kick up a fuss on this occasion, we informed one of the service staff (who was also the sommelier) about the Entrecôte, and phrased it as politely as we could; on whether the meat should be "cooked to this doneness". You can tell that the meat was overcooked and grey, and it would be clear to any kitchen or service staff that it should not have been served.

To our horror, the staff returned after consulting with the kitchen and informed us that the Entrecôte was indeed meant to be cooked and eaten in the way it was served, but because it was "not to the customer's liking", they could offer us a dessert instead. Any respectable steakhouse should have replaced the steak immediately. It was only after we insisted that they check with the kitchen again did they offer to replace it.

This sums up the "beef" we had in the restaurant - we are fine with mistakes happening in the kitchen. What really ruined the night was the fact that the kitchen staff and sommelier, who we first reported the issue to, tried to shape a kitchen mistake into one that was arising from a customer's preference for how the food should be cooked. That is simply unacceptable.

Nevertheless, our night was saved by the excellent table service provided by one Francis Steiner, who was extremely apologetic about the entire situation (unlike the kitchen staff, and sommelier who conveniently avoided our table like the plague thereafter).

Hopefully our beef with the experience would be a one-off situation as apart from the poor service from the kitchen and the overcooked Black Angus Entrecôte, everything...

I came to this place because of the great reviews and rating, but this place is overstated. May be the steaks are good, but the restaraunt should not forget about accompanying drinks and this is where it was a disaster and it ruined the whole expectation of nice meat and the wine which should complement. Unfortunately we decided to order the wine per glass and the red wine we got was firstly cold like from the fridge and secondly there were traces from cork... The second glass of wine was better and it was from another bottle but also extremely cold. So taken into account that the price range of the place is above average, you expect amazing quality everywhere... If you want to be top rated and this is what you're striving for, please work...

Pro: sehr guter Service mit allem drum und dran saubere Toilette Viel Sitzplatz drinnen und draußen unglaublich gutes Fleisch leckere Vorspeisen und Beilagen moderne Cocktails Gute Weinkarte Gut mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zu erreichen

Contra: wenig Parkplätze

Waren hier als kleine Gruppe zum Abendessen. Der Service ist ausgezeichnet und immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wirklich klasse. Wir hatten eine Tisch recht mittig im Restaurant drinnen, es gibt aber auch Sitzplätze draußen. Die Einrichtung ist modern gehalten. Neben dem Restaurant im gleichen Haus ist auch noch der Weinladen, in welchem si h auch die Toilette befinden. Die Toiletten waren sauber. Es gibt auch noch einen weiteren Bereich für Events im hinteren Teil. Die Vorspeisen waren sehr gut und auch der Gruß aus der Küche, Brot mit einer lachscreme war lecker und mal was anderes. Das Fleisch als Hauptgerichte war dann der Wahnsinn. Auf den Punkt perfekt, wir hatten Filet und es war unglaublich zart. Man braucht weder eine Soße noch gewürze dazu. Perfekt so wie es ist fanden wir. Als Beilagen hatten wir Pommes, die selbstgemacht waren und New Potatos, welche mal was ganz anderes waren. Dies sind kleine Kartoffeln mit soure cream gefüllt und mit Trüffel. Absolut empfehlenswert wenn man Trüffel mag. Es gibt vier verschiedene Soßen die alle auf ihre Art speziell sind für mich persönlich war die kräutersoße am gelungenesten, mein Freund fand Cafe de Paris am besten. Bei den cocktails haben sie sich auch was neues einfallen lassen, so gibt es neben den ganz normalen auch spezielle cocktails die wirklich mal was anderes sind. Die Weinkarte ist sehr groß und es gibt viele sehr sehr gute Weine die man perfekt zum Fleisch oder auch zum Dessert trinken kann. Hier haben wir uns sehr gut beraten gefühlt. Dankeschön Vor dem Restaurant gibt es ein paar Parkplätze aber nicht viele wir sind mit den öffentlichen angereist und würden das auch jedem anderen empfehlen. They can meat! Awesome! But let's talk about the side dishes first, it's Veganuary! That's more than an excuse, what we were served here with the Tavolata. Simple, light salad, tender oysters, something like warmed by the sun, and more. Not big, but just perfect balanced. And this butter, wouwww...not just a 'Cafe de Paris' with dry herbs, but a delicious cream with lots of truffle served in sweet potato... the wine recommendation was a complete and positive surprise... but back to the meat: perfect. ps: everything served in a relaxed, sweet, humorous and gallant way.

Das Restaurant, besonders der Außenbereich, bietet eine romantische Atmosphäre, die besonders abends, wenn die Lichter sanft die Umgebung beleuchten, zum Träumen einlädt. Der Service zeichnet sich durch Freundlichkeit und Zuvorkommenheit aus, was den gesamten Restaurantbesuch zu einem wahren Vergnügen macht. Die Fleischgerichte sind insgesamt hervorragend. Das Filet war absolut top - geschmacklich ein Volltreffer und die Portion von 200g genau richtig. Auch das Ribeye war geschmacklich hervorragend, trotz der Tatsache, dass es teils stärker von Sehnen durchzogen war als gewöhnlich. Doch dieser kleine Kritikpunkt verblasst angesichts der insgesamt hohen Qualität der Fleischgerichte. Die Beilagen überzeugten uns ebenfalls auf ganzer Linie. Sie waren geschmacklich ausgezeichnet und in perfekter Menge serviert. Ein besonderes Highlight war die exzellente Weinempfehlung, die unser kulinarisches Erlebnis ideal abrundete. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Smith And De Luma ein wahrer Geheimtipp für Fleischliebhaber ist. Trotz kleinerer Kritikpunkte bietet es ein erstklassiges kulinarisches Erlebnis, hervorragenden Service und eine romantische Atmosphäre, die vor allem abends zur Geltung kommt. Ein Restaurant, das ich wärmstens empfehlen kann.
