Five out of five stars
ROSI is a hidden gem in Zurich that serves up some of the most delectable and authentic Swiss cuisine in the city. Nestled within a charming historical building, the restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere that is both cozy and refined. The décor is tasteful and understated, allowing the focus to remain on the exquisite culinary creations that emerge from the kitchen.
From the moment you step through the doors, you are greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality by the attentive staff. Their knowledge of the menu is impeccable, and they are always happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences.
The menu features a wide variety of traditional Swiss dishes, all prepared with the utmost care and attention to detail. The ingredients are sourced from local farmers and producers, ensuring that the dishes are not only flavorful but also sustainable.
I started with the Bündner Gerstensuppe (barley soup), a hearty and comforting dish that is perfect for a cold winter day. The soup was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of smokiness and sweetness.
For my main course, I had the Kalbsgeschnetzeltes (veal strips in a creamy mushroom sauce). The veal was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The accompanying Rösti (hash browns) were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
I also tried the Apfelstrudel (apple strudel) for dessert. The strudel was flaky and buttery, and the apples were sweet and tart. The vanilla ice cream was the perfect finishing touch.
Overall, I had an exceptional dining experience at ROSI. The food was exquisite, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly authentic Swiss...
Read moreMy impromptu dinner at Rosi ended up being a major highlight from my brief stop in Zürich. I had made the solo reservation for the wrong evening, but the staff accommodated me anyway. While I had only really wanted to try the fabled cordon bleu, I ended up going the tasting menu route and I don’t regret it at all. Between the incredibly delicious and equally inventive dishes, the impeccable service including friendly and passionate explanations by the head chef Markus Stöckle, and the wonderful vibe of the restaurant as it became more vibrant through the night… it was such a phenomenal experience. The attention to detail even came down to the fact that they brought me some cool books to read, since I was alone. Bravo to the team at Rosi – you’ve added a great travel story to my repertoire, of the time I had an unforgettable Bavarian fine dining experience in...
Read moreDelicious Bavarian food with a delicate touch! If you are looking for a big hearty plate of Bratwurst or Schweinshaxe then perhaps this place may not be for you. The food comes in smaller portions which work best when shared, and this allows you to try a lot of what is on the menu without needing to be air lifted our of the restaurant afterwards. This is definitely a good thing too as it's all delicious. For those of you like myself who ignorantly thought Bavarian food was a slightly sluggish symphony of beige, prepare to have your perspective changed. The dishes were varied, vibrant, and really well presented. The Schitzel was as good as any I've ever eaten (I've I've eaten a few in my time!). Service was great too - very friendly and laid back. Would...
