Decent food but had a bad experience when I went in on a Sunday. The place was quite busy and had a few tables available both on the main floor and on the second floor. I tried to ask to be seated upstairs but the young male staff kept insisting that I had to sit on the main floor because there were still seats on the main floor. His reason was that if I had gone upstairs, then they would have to do extra work by going up and down the stairs. Interesting.
Well, I compromised and grabbed a table on the main floor, ordered and paid for my food, and went to the washroom. I even left my water bottle on the table to secure my table. When I returned, I found out that the male staff had moved my stuff without my permission and moved my table without consulting with me. I wondered if they understood what respect and good etiquette even mean.
Since the male staff had moved my table to one that was not very desirable, I once again, asked if I could be seated upstairs instead. I even offered to help him out by coming down to get my meal so he wouldn’t need to go upstairs. His response was silence. He kept insisting that I’d have to sit there. I was dumbfounded.
I even saw a group of 6 that got sent upstairs right in front of my eyes. I guess he didn’t mind doing extra work for 6 but mind doing extra work for just 1. Truly shocking.
Nonetheless, I will give credit where it is due, but I will also speak up when something is very wrong. In terms of their food, meals come with around 10 different variety of veggies, in which they were either steamed or poached. Their beef with wine, their fish and their chicken were all very decent. The popular juice that they called green latte was well blended. Price is a bit higher compared to other places in the healthy foods category, but that is reflected in the higher quality.
Food itself would have deserved a 5 star, however, no matter how good the food is, if the service or attitude was awful, the food would have tasted like a negative star. Therefore, I asked for my money to be returned and left.
Just to make one thing clear: If this was the company’s policy, then it’s even more shocking, because they were contradicting themselves, as I’ve gone there before in the past and actually sat upstairs while there were tables on the main floor. The kind lady staff who sent me upstairs at that time didn’t seem to mind to go up and down the stairs. So, I wonder if this has more to do with the staff or has more to do with the actual management.
Yes, I was actually a repeat customer, who have ordered from here many times before. However, after this bad experience, I’m not sure if I’ll return again.
If you must check this place out, go ahead, because to be fair, their food is pretty good, but if you end up getting a bad experience from an uncompromising staff like I did, don’t blame anyone else for not having read this review.
I subsequently went to a different restaurant nearby and had one of the best dining experiences in recent memories, with great food, and a wonderful kind hearted staff, who made a wonderful dining experience for me, that was 10x better than what I would have...
Read moreMy family and I were getting hungry for lunch after walking around the National Museum of Natural Science. We wanted something fresh and healthy when we decided on this place. Everything we ordered was delicious and you can tell they only use quality ingredients. The server was friendly and made great suggestions to us as well as provided some background on the restaurant's origin and concept. We will definitely be back if we are ever...
