Izakaya — Restaurant in Wanhua District

Vegan friendly. Staff were quite nice and we got our grilled mochi without milk syrup so it was vegan :) Open late. They have baskets for your bags (so important for me!). 300 min per person and 2 hour limit but if it's not busy they won't bother you :)

I've noticed most of the negative reviews were from Japanese griping about price and food quality, so probably not a good place for picky Japanese friends looking for a piece of home. I thought the prices were reasonable for the establishment and the food was localized flavor wise but quality is quite nice.

Probably the best yakimochi I've had so far in Taiwan! We also had kimchi daikon, veg udon, and chilled tofu. Seasoned edamame came on the house and was very tasty as well!

For veg*ns please note they are generous with the Bonito flakes so do let them know if you'd like it without! They were very kind and accommodating for me :) My freegan friend didn't mind and I was just in it for the mochi XD

I went in with no/low expectations. Instead what I got was good food, good service (though their English menu misses a lot of what they have - just use Google translate on the Chinese menu and board - or just point to what other people got.) Nevertheless, great food and cheap or at least normal prices. Decent atmosphere (the music wasn't too bad or loud - you can ignore it). A little izakaya place that’s not overly crowded. The ambiance was warm. It was clean and straightforward. The waiter was very nice. She talked to us in English even though they have an English menu.

The food was fresh and well prepared. The best ones that we ordered were the nigiri and local fish. No complains with the others. We were good full....
