George & Dragon — Restaurant in Dar es-Salaam

I am so upset with this place, I thought it was a good place because the first time I went I liked the margaritas and even though I was only there for a short time because that day was Friday and they closed at 12, there was a DJ and the music was good I was enjoying myself but everything ended very quickly, I am a tourist here in Dar es Salaam so this weekend I told my husband to go again, he saw the closing time and in the schedule they offer it said they close on Saturdays at midnight, if I'm not mistaken midnight is at 12 a.m. so my husband and I arrived at 10:30 p.m. the same DJ was there and the atmosphere looked good, there were people in the place and I ordered a margarita and my husband a beer, the margarita had too much ice and the beer was very warm, at first we didn't say anything and just drank our drinks, when it was time to order the second round I asked for my margarita without ice and my husband asked for a COLD beer but they brought us the same thing again, My margarita had too much ice again and my husband was told that they didn't have any colder beer so we couldn't do anything and decided to order food. It was 11pm when all of a sudden the music stopped and the DJ was just packing up his stuff. We had barely ordered food and another round of drinks and the music had already stopped!!! When we asked the waiter about the music, who was already a little upset, he answered that the DJ had an emergency and had to leave the place. The truth is that it is not at all fun to be in a place that is completely silent on a Saturday night while you are trying to get out of the routine or just have a nice time, so in the end we had to drink our drinks which were not nice and the food was really bad or maybe with music it would have been different, but I did not feel comfortable anymore. In those types of places there should never be missing music. If they knew from the beginning that they were going to close early they would have warned us from the moment we arrived and so I would have made the decision to leave or stay, but the moment the DJ left all the waiters and the restaurant was completely empty, only one other table and my table were there. Anyway, I don't know if anyone is going to read this, I hope the manager there does so and is a little more careful with these things because this way they leave a very bad reputation...

Coming away from the beach we looked up and we saw the George and Dragon seeing this we thought we would check it out as it is an English style pub and then we saw the menu stay in a Sunday dinner with the English style so before we go up and check out and wow we were truly blown away literally had the same feel at all different currency of money on the wall which I found interesting they did not have the new £10 note luckily I had some on me so they can put it on the wall the staff are so friendly and so helpful always making sure that you drink is still there and open I tried that pizza and it was lovely square pizza and it was nice to meet the owner speaking to him and he and he did live in our hometown from the UK Portsmouth what is the odds of that we had a great time up here on a Sunday midday thank you for your hospitality and we will definitely...

A popular restaurant to try out their traditional fish and chips or their lasagna. They have plenty of indoor AC sitting and a second room where people can play pool and darts. Has a bar section and behind the building is their hidden gem.... The pool garden which is open space where BBQ is done, a pool in the middle (which sadly no one is allowed to swim in) a bar and during the weekends the pace is lively with a DJ playing some cool beats. Service is good with quality food. There is limited parking outside the building and end up parking opposite the road which can be abit dangerous with fast moving cars.
