Anyone who's been returning to Fight Street year after year will tell you Tony's is not just a restaurant, it is Legend. Tony's was there when it all started, and stands strong to this day. He (and his son Gee) have withstood the gentrification creep of the Soi -protein yogurt joints, weed slinging barber shops, and conglomerate muay thai gyms running fat camps and quadrupling prices.
Yes, it's not the most inviting restaurant on the street, for that matter it's not the cleanest either. I wouldn't take first a date here. None of the chairs match. There are dated, sun-faded advertising banners covered in dust and grime hanging next to an old sketched portrait of Tony and his family -while they were still young. There's no air conditioning -hell, the ceiling fans are suspect. Yes, you will need to share condiments with neighboring tables. Yes, the waitress will not ask if u need anything else. Of the dozens of times I've ate there, I don't recall the waitresses even talking. Yet they never messed up my order.
The food is tasty, healthy and cheap. I recommend the boiled rice soup, Thai suki and watermelon shake. Oh, and the morning glory is pretty good too.
Like his decor, Tony has stayed true to the original spirit of Fight Street -where a starving, broke, aspiring fighter could get an honest meal for just a few bucks. I'll bet Tony set his prices when when he hung that family portrait, and thankfully, hasn't changed a damn...
Read moreTony is the restaurant to go to!!! It serves you everything you need may it be you want to eat high protein, low carb, high carb, you want to have western (fast) food like burgers, french fries etc. or just steamed or grilled chicken breast, eggs etc., or Thai food, protein shakes, ...you name it! You will get it at Tony's restaurant with the lowest prices on the whole Soi Ta-Iad!!! I've compared the prices, food quality, sizes of servings etc. on the whole Soi without any exception! The result is that Tony's is the best choice and quality with the lowest prices. (Pizza and Italian food is not served - don't let yourself be mislead by the name Tony - the owner is not an Italian guy, he is Thai and his nick name is Tony). Highly recommended!!! (Tip: You can buy there also tickets for Muay Thai tournaments for a fraction of the...

Here are some of my favorite dishes:
Breakfast 1.) 4 egg omelet (3 egg whites and 1 whole) with a diced Thai chili for spice, spinach, vegetables and ham. Sometimes I’ll add sautéed morning glory with garlic for extra greens and a sweet potato if I want carbs. Great breakfast after morning training!
Lunch / Dinner: 2.) Panang Curry (Thai spicy) with chicken or beef.
3.) Pad Thai with any protein. :)
4.) Steamed fish.
*Note: Get the sautéed morning glory with garlic and chili!
