Update: It got better!! Staff is adorable. Food is good.
Pre-covid era: We are very disappointed about that promising place. I don T understand all the good comments.
The decor is amazing and classy, really perfect. The music is great. The welcoming is pro and warm. After that: why all this efforts?
Water carafe are so full of ice there is barely any water in them.
In France, the Bread usually represent the food quality. So the tone is set with an industrial defrosted baguette. @-@
The Vegan platter starter isn t vegan (honey everywhere), one of the three dips is tasteful -hummus-, others are bland; rest of the dish isn t home made -so it is very tasty! On a good note platting was beautiful.
Mains arrived on table but there was no space, cause starter plates were not removed. (Order of service is lacking) Again platting was great but Order was taken wrongly -after double checking- a friend asked no chilli and no coriander and got the exact same plate as other friend having the same dish- and we never saw so much coriander on a plate.
Food was bland. Not quality you expect in this gorgeous deco. :(
The vegan main course was tasting bad (not blend, bad), flavour not matching together. After the “vegan” starter, i must say i have doubts it was even vegan.. it was incredibly bitter. Came with a side salad: uneatable. Never met a French that can t make a vinaigrette.
To summarize: Beautiful deco, super cool toilets and good music, nice seatings, gorgeous platting. 💖 To improve: food quality and flavours combinations, vegan appellation, order of service.
It could be an amazing place, unfortunately it was a massive fail among our group :(
To finish on a positive note you really feel like you are in Paris: gorgeous interior design, cool music, beautiful people serving blend expensive food....
Read moreIt’s probably a good idea opening a willing-to-be trendy and gastronomic French restaurant in this part of Phangan.
Due to my job I have visited endless of such venues around the world and was curious and positively exited about this new opening.
I cannot judge about the cuisine. As soon as I entered the restaurant I was confronted to the most unpleasant ambiance and welcome. Well actually I have been waiting at the entrance for five minutes minutes or more, tried to attract some people attention but nobody cared at all. I am not Brad Pitt nor Lady Gaga but not transparent either. At the same time there was a great deal of wannabe cool gurus and yogichics pretty girls, and a bunch of thinking-they-are-still-pretty young ladies. All of it quite arrogant. A fun to watch zoo! At this stage I felt pretty amused and still willing to give it a try.
The breaking point was the Chef (owner) raging out of his kitchen to give a hard time to the waiters, shouting at them they should relax and be way more active and focused (a definitely innovative concept). I then decided to quit the circus. Which I regret as the cuisine looks very nice.
I understand opening a restaurant is a massive challenge. But arrogance does not convey attractiveness nor “desirability”. So please relax, get...
Read moreWe booked a table there and went with some friends. Arrived at 8:00 , waited more than 30 minutes to get our drinks, an hour and a half for our starters which has been separately , every 15 minutes . One of my friends didn’t gat her starter at all. Then , we had our main courses at 10pm , same thing: not served at the same time so we had dinner separately. My friend , the danse who did not get her starter , did not get her main course and after many call and reminders to the waiter we finally decided to go and speak to the manager- owner who was in the kitchen and behaved and spoke to us in a very bad way , asking us to leave if we were not happy and saying he was not responsible because he had to work with Burmese people ! Unacceptable! All tables around where in the same situation and many left the restaurant furiously! For sure will never go back and will not...
