Boring and expensive hotel at a horrible village of the island.
The hotel has no warm welcoming and service like you usually get in Thailand. It looks OK on the pictures but it isn't. The pool is always dirty and looks like it's been maintained every day. Within six days staying at the hotel I saw no one using it and I never would have jumped inside.
The hotel itself had no charme and living atmosphere, it more seemed like its the place where old men take their hunted Thai women at night.
The hotel belongs to an old tourist restaurant that offers German Schnitzel, same as all kind of other no Thai food. There are many nicer places to go for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The area around this hotel is more for Pattaya kind of tourists, bars with prostitutes and its very annoying at night to walk along the streets because of attacking Thai Ladyboys and girls. Though there are still one or two nice restaurants around the area.
The reception is only open from 8am to 6pm. So if you have complains later or before that time you have to go to the restaurant, which doesn't make it better. The restaurant is closed before 8am and at night you get to talk to the arrogant female manager of the restaurant.
When you arrive you have to pay 500 baht in cash. But make sure you leave within the reception time otherwise you don't get your money back. I was told to get the money at the restaurant at night because of early flight and the manager of the restaurant would give it to me. She wanted to send someone to be at the hotel at 7am, but no one was there to return the money. The person at the reception was friendly though.
Also take cash with you, since the credit card machine doesn't work.
I paid around 38 Euros per night, but since the bed was the only thing that was useful and the hotel is in the backyard of the restaurant and not at the beach, it's worth not more than 15-20 Euros per night. (breakfast was not included)
The island has many nicer villages than white sand beach, its really worth it to...
Read moreOnce we arrived around 6pm it was dark already and the sign on the pool bar is written “Reception” but there is no receptionist we wait about 30mins so i decided to call but the number that i called it rang the phone at the pool bar in front of me ( no one is gonna pick it up for sure) because there is no receptionist. Ok, i think i should do something then i chat with someone name’s Frank but he was useless, couldn’t tell anything useful because he said that we need to check in at the bar outside and there is a sign says that we need to check in at the bar outside(i took a picture and the sign doesn’t say things like that) but we just asked some guest in the resort before his answer, if i wait for his answer, i would’ve been checked in around 8pm for sure. Only this part makes me disappointed. For the other things they are really good. Worth for money. Cleanliness was fine, we found cockroach in the room but it was acceptable for us at kind of these resorts. I hope i will get some nice explanation back to me about...
Read moreA nice bar with good drinks selection and a HUGE food menu plus a free to play pool table.
The staff are friendly and attentive and I came here several times during my stay on Koh Chang. There is a happy hour 3 till 7 with 20% off drinks. Live music on Fridays from 7:30 and karaoke afterwards with a Quiz on alternative Mondays.
The Sunday roast is so so at 330 bhat, it includes soup, a small salad bar and dessert. I chose the trio of meats, Beef, Lamb and Chicken. The beef is tough, precooked from a packet, lamb was mainly just gristle but chicken was good. The veggies were nicely cooked but the gravy, from a packet mix didn't add anything. I never received the dessert. It's supposed to be bottomless but it was a struggle to finish the portion I was presented.
I visited several times during happy hour and all but one, they hadn't applied the discount, so I suggest you check the bill if you come here. It started to seem like a policy than a...
