This historic confectionery shop, which has been crafting Turkish sweets since 1777, continues to uphold its legacy of excellence. Their baklava is exceptional - perfectly crispy layers of phyllo pastry that shatter delicately with each bite, demonstrating the perfect balance of texture that only comes from fresh, expert preparation.
Their Turkish delight (lokum) lives up to the shop's historic reputation as one of the original masters of this classic sweet. The freshness of their products is immediately apparent - these aren't mass-produced sweets sitting on shelves for weeks, but rather carefully crafted delicacies made with traditional techniques and quality ingredients.
The store itself carries the atmosphere of its long history while maintaining modern standards of service and cleanliness. Whether you're looking to sample some sweets on the spot or take some boxes home as gifts, this place offers an authentic taste of traditional Turkish confectionery at its finest.
For anyone seeking to experience genuine Turkish sweets from one of Istanbul's most venerable establishments, Ali Muhiddin Hacı Bekir delivers both quality and tradition...
Read moreHi Ali Muhiddin store team, Sharing this review as I am very disappointed with the service you provided. I stopped by on the day I was travelling back to US on the 24th of October 2024 just after you opened the store. Hence it was not busy and you had time to focus on your customer! I bought some Turkish Delights and an order of Baklava! I paid and you packed and gave me my order in the bag! I clearly saw you pack the Baklava order and you did not put it in the bag. I trusted and rushed out as I was running late for my flight. I came back to the hotel and I realized you did not pack the Baklava and had only the Turkish Delights! It was not busy at all, why didn’t you pack all items?? I did not have time to come back to your store. I had to buy another Baklava at the airport at a higher price and was not even good! I would like you to please refund me! I did not have any means to contact you. I have put a request with my credit card company to question the charges as you did not provide the service/ product I paid for. Kindly ask you to honour the request. Hope someone from the store or the corporate office respond to my review and...
Read moreIf you are looking for a nice Baklava experience, this is your place. The already well known Baklava shop chain opened this amazing Baklava cafe-bar and it's a must try option if you are in Istanbul. Make sure to ask for the Baklava Bar place which is downstairs! It's a big nice space with a huge table that many types of Baklava move in circles in front of you, what an amazing eating experience. You can choose whichever Baklava comes in front of you and eat as many as you wish. Of course I can say the prices were a bit higher than if you were taking the same portion elsewhere but it's 100% worth it, depending on which Baklava you choose, the price is a bit different but it's really easy and fun to check the prices of each small plate cause they are distinguished by colour. I suggest for sure the chocolate Baklava and the classic one! It's so sad that not many people know about this place so far because it's literally so new, we were lucky to be the only ones downstairs. (If more people knew about it would be full with queues of people waiting to be seated...
