True Burger Bar — Restaurant in Kyiv

Edit: Visited again after a couple of years. Service was prompt this time and still like the vibe of the restaurant. Fries were fresh and hot (though still very plain), burger was tasty. I tried the Mexican burger, thinking it might be a little too busy with all of the toppings, but everything balanced nicely. Perhaps a specialty burger should have been my choice the first time. Would eat there again.

Original post: Nice decor and atmosphere. Waitress forgot about our table and we had to go ask for the bill at the bar (We were one of only two tables occupied upstairs for a late lunch). Tried the classic burger, and was disappointed - the meat itself was not very flavorful, though the overall sandwich looked nice. Plenty of burger options on the menu, but underwhelming execution on the central menu item was unexpected. Fries were ok, but looked like generic frozen ones. Hard to recommend when there are so many good places to eat in Kiev.

We went there once and were dissatisfied. PROS: Burgers, as such, were very good. Beer was fresh. A waiter was polite and quick. The interior was nice-looking and clean. CONS: Cooking bland is the Ukrainian tradition so I ordered two portions of chili pepper with my Classic Beef burger, but even the chili was almost tasteless. Double Cheese with Kimchi (very hot and spicy by definition) burger was also bland. Fluffy Waffles with Poached Eggs & Bacon had a chance, but caramelized onion was definitely cooked with sugar. This trick makes getting the onion brown much quicker, but the taste suffers significantly. In our case, it was barely edible as the waffles soaked up the liquid. And a milkshake was just so-so.

Ate today the Big Diablo burger, wow, I'm a big guy and almost couldn't finish it, the burger was pretty good although I was sure he'd be more spicy, I mean it's called Diablo :)

The meal came with fries on the side and I added cheddar bacon sauce to it, hot damn what a great combination! I also got with this meal a shot of sailor jack rum which was a great addition to warm up due to the heavy snow that came out of nowhere.

Service was great, my waiter Andrey was super informativ about the different possibilities I can choose from and besides giving a good service he was super friendly, btw Andrey, Thanks for wishing for a good game, Bayern did win :)
