This really is a gem. Firstly, hygiene is exellent, a must in my book. The staff are so kind and so helpful, we observed them clearing a table and offering it go a larger party so they were not crampt on a smaller table. The staff also moved things around to make it easier to pass. They are so considerate of others. Service is always with a smile. The staff welcomed us in and everyone else who came in. Tables can be reserved. A fantastic thank you as people leave encouraging them back. Now for the food. What a selection, the menu is large and extensive. Cakes, cream teas, crepes and pancakes are specialities and we tried 2 of these and were impressed. They also do sandwiches, toasties and more. There are an array of drinks too more than 5 kinds of hot chocolate. Coffee are extensive too as well as teas. They do decaf teas and coffee. The toilet is very clean. It's disabled friendly and has a cleaning chart on it. Seating is available inside and out with amazing views. Prices are reasonable and excellent value for money, the quality is excellent. If you want a cream tea though, you do need to book because that is special! So get planning. Next time you are in Barry make sure you visit. Genuine 5 star in all areas.

We just stopped here for a quick drink after a walk on the beach. There are a small number of tables and chairs tucked away on the beachside of the building. So we sat in the late morning sunshine and enjoyed the view. I wasn’t sure what drink we fancied but the lady serving was really helpful and chatted through the options. As we were coffeed out from earlier we had a milkshake. We had salted caramel made with ice cream. Delicious. I had no expectations from a little beachfront cafe but now this is where we will be found on our trips to Barry Island. Friendly service going above and beyond makes such a difference. Will try breakfast next time as the menu looks great.

I was given a Gift Voucher by my son for tea x 2 at Bay 5. After a lot of thought I decided to take my wife. I must say we thoroughly enjoyed it, and would highly recommend it. The staff were lovely and welcoming and on bringing the food to the table described what it comprised of. We had finger sandwiches, two mini pies, Kettle crisps, scones jam & cream, and little pastries, with choice of tea or coffee. What added to the enjoyment was our table enabled us to look out at the beach and sea. We'll worth a visit.

Being locals, we often stop here for a coffee/lunch break and have also enjoyed several evenings here. Last weekend we hired it for a family event (17 of us ranging from toddlers to pensioners) at which we enjoyed afternoon tea with glasses of bubbly. What can I say? It surpassed our expectations. The food was amazing and the vegetarians and vegans in our group were catered for exceptionally well. The sea views are truly amazing here - even on a wet and windy March afternoon. This is a lovely venue; we appreciated the fresh flowers on the tables and the bunting which they had kindly agreed to put up. However the outstanding feature without doubt, is the staff - from the booking process with Elena to the amazing Jane and Jeannie who treated us like royalty on the day - nothing was too much trouble - it was a first class experience that we will always remember with great fondness. Thank you all - including the staff whose names I don’t know who also helped out on the day. Highly recommend this fabulous venue. Thank you all...
