Very disappointed with our bottomless brunch at Aluna. My friend and I arrived on time, however we were not served our first drink until 10 minutes after being seated. We ordered our food promptly and whilst doing so, two tables sat down either side of us. These two tables had both their main and desserts served before we even got our main, despite them arriving after us. After a lengthy wait, our dessert came out, alongside the bill which we found quite off putting and at this point other tables around us were being ushered away into the bar area. Not once had we been checked on or asked if our food was ok, and the service was so slow on the food and drink front, so I found it quite ironic that the bill was so speedy. We were 2 mouthfuls into the dessert when the host/manager appears in a suit and asks loudly if everyone has paid, making hurrying hand gestures and pointing to tables to be cleared. We were then told (after being pointed at by our waitress) that we need to pay and vacate the table, despite having only had our dessert for a few minutes and having not finished it. We felt under pressure and quite uncomfortable as our half-eaten desserts were taken away and we were made to pay and move to the bar area immediately. Once in the bar area, we took a seat at a free table as a waitress said that was fine. Not even 2 minutes later we were kicked off that table and made to stand as apparently the guests had arrived, however the table remained vacant. We were going to stay for drinks, however it was such an unpleasant and rushed experience, we decided not to. This really is disappointing as I was so hoping to love Aluna and does not reflect the type of establishment that we believed it to be...
Read moreSCROLL DOWN!!! It’s funny how after leaving a bad review they have clearly asked loads of people to leave a good review to boost the rating back up to try and hide the lowest ratings!! Yet in reality this is not true about it being 5 stars! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
Would not recommend this brunch to anyone, it was the worst experience I’ve ever had anywhere- and I have been to many different places for brunch.. The service was shocking, and the staff tried to take our last orders 15 minutes before the brunch time finished. The service was slow and took ages to bring our drinks.. And we had to keep getting the attention of a worker to take our drink orders.
The worst part is the food was appalling! We all ordered the same mains and one chicken burger was undercooked and pink inside. It made me and my other friends SO ill! Within less than half an hour of leaving the 5 of us suddenly had sickness and diarrhoea resulting in us all going home and ruining my friends birthday. I find this totally unacceptable and I should have listened to a previous friend who also had the same experience! AVOID! To get then food poisoning after paying for an expensive brunch is totally unacceptable. The staff need basic training for people management skills and maybe the kitchen staff need to know how to cook basic food properly. Assume we won’t get a response to this but what a total waste of money. Defiantly don’t waste your time and money...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. Our first visit to this venue, server sat us down and I asked for something special as it was my wife’s birthday. Server recommended the Glitterbomb for her as he said it’s pretty cool in a test tube and smoking. For me, I ordered a Smokey Old-Fashioned. With four staff around you think this would have been quite quick to make. Server came over with the bill and thrust the card reader towards me. After paying and checking the bill saw that there is a charity payment of £1 and 10% (discretionary) service charge added. Not very appropriate if it’s just charged to your card before you’ve even seen the bill. But put that aside and who doesn’t like to support a charity and give good service a deserved tip! I paid for the drinks at 20:19. At 20:25 the same server asked if we’d ordered food! I said no but we’d like our drinks. My wife’s drink was finally made and put onto the side of the bar at 20:32 where we watched the smoke rise out of the ‘test tube’! And watched, and watched. Finally, when my drink was made at 20:36 and put on the side, the drinks were served but by that time there was nothing left to be seen of the special glitterbomb smoke spectacular! And for £12.50, you’d expect some fireworks. Staff on their phones and just disinterested made it a very poor experience. Needless to say we...
