I had a bruschetta starter topped by tomato and garlic and then a mozzarella topped pizza. Unfortunately, when the pizza arrived at my table it was obviously over-cooked. Daspite this the waiter still brought it to my table. I immediately indicated that I thought the pizza should be taken back and replaced with a newly cooked one. I raised this with the Italian head waiyer and he immediately saw my point and the pizza was subsequently cooked for me again anew. This time the pizza was nicely cooked and tasty and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It appeared to me that the first waiter had seen my pizza was at first badly cooked, but had still brought it to me. Perhaps a little under pressure from management he had hoped that either I would not know how poorly cooked my pizza was, or that I would not raise my concerns. Of course I cannot be sure of this, but it did raise a concern in my mind, which I don't recall having experienced the last time I ate at Guy's. To sum up, I was a little disappointed when I later paid the bill, hence my overall 3-Star rating for...

Shocking service. You book for a certain time and are told to wait by the bar even though there are several tables available. Only some of the tables get dip and pre meal vege snacks?, kids dont get the crayons anymore, if you order a drink from the table it takes over 20 minutes, anything that came out fried was tasteless, the meals dont arrive at the same time and if you get a dessert menu dont expect anyone to take your order ( would have had 4 with coffee but left after being ignored ). Some of the waiting on staff dropped food on the floor and had no urgency to clear it up. Really disappointed because we used to like it here. I reckon it's down to bad part time staff as the regular staff are always friendly and attentive. On this occasion it wasnt even that busy so I'd avoid any time were there are more than a few...

Much of this might be due to being too full. For me, I couldn't hear any conversation due to the volume of the music, this meant the all the tables in a very full restaurant had to talk loudly to be heard, with my hearing, I couldn't communicate. The male waiters were very good but while the females were friendly they didn't follow through with requests for drinks multiple times. One didn't seem to be able to understand English and had to get someone to interpret. Overall, they worked very hard but couldn't cope with the number of people eating. The time waiting for meals to get to the tables was excessive and when the food arrived, a few of the starters and mains were over cooked and some burnt excessively. It was not close to the standard I'd expect when paying over £300 for a meal. Very poor, I won't...

We went here for food last weekend and we can't wait to go back. Albeit a bit out of the way, this place is worth going back to. Had a carbonara starter, which was absolutely huge, and i struggled eating the main afterwards. Fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere. Only slight gripe would be that i couldn't upgrade my fries/ pay extra to get truffle fries with my main. I was told they're an extra, which is a bit ridiculous because i don't understand why anyone would want two portions with a main. Friendly and attentive staff, and the surroundings are really picturesque, with cobbled roads, thatched roof buildings, and a canal side view. Highly recommend!

Guy's Eating Establishment Restaurant & Pizzeria is situated within Guy's Thatched Hamlet in a lovely location next to the Lancaster Canal. There is ample parking available. The restaurant is Italian and has a good variety on the menu. The staff greeting you as you enter are professional and friendly, although once seated we waited a very long time before our order was taken. When the food was brought to us there was no communication from the young waiter, he just plonked the food down in front of us and walked off!!! The food in general though was actually very tasty. Nice environment, good food, just lacking better customer service.

After a bit of confusion (on my part) where I'd accidentally gone to owld nells we rang up Guys and they were more than accommodating. What can I say, the place is decorated beautifully, it's warm, friendly and cosy but the food... oh my goodness the food! I am not over exaggerating I have never tasted nicer tagliatelle and such moist, tender, melt in your mouth chicken than this! The other main we had was the salmon and prawn dish from the Christmas menu and yet again it was to die for! Unfortunately the food was so good and tempting I forgot to take photos of the meals until after. We thoroughly recommend guys.
