Came to Bristol for a nice day trip with my work colleagues. All have different dietary requirements, one is vegetarian, etc. We all decided Gourmet Burger was a good pick for us all. Came to the door and was greeted shown to a nice table. Very quiet inside, lovely looking place. Very spacious liked the decor. We all had a menu and looked at what to get. The burger options were amazing, great selection. My Veggie colleague had already picked as there isn't too much he can have. I decided on a Major Tom with some truffle cheese fries and a salted caramel shake. Came to £21 which is crazy but it's a day out. My Veggie colleague came back we ask him what he got, he goes in to tell us that he asked for the lunch time deal.... which is £9.99 for a burger, fries and a sparkling bottled drink. There was no extra menus out to showcase this, I wasn't told about this deal either so I was a pretty annoyed. I would have gone for that for sure (Many can say why didn't you check online or ask about it, this is my first time in and their is poor phone signal so we went in on a whim). The person who took my order was very quiet, very little interaction just saying "what's your order?". The food came, to be honest it looked gorgeous! The burger looked amazing, positioned perfect and very well put together. But again shown up by our veggie colleague's burger which looked massive compared to our tiny burgers. He got the halloumi burger. My other colleague got virtually the same as me. The burger was delicious, amazing taste. Really packed with flavour the 30 day matured meat had a love taste and texture. The fries were okay, the star of the show being the topping, which only a few chips had. The milkshake though was perfect, really nice, not to overpowering. Finished our meals and if I'm honest I was still pretty hungry. The burger was pretty small and you get a handful of fries with the truffle cheese ones. To say 21 pounds worth would be a bit of a big stretch, but it was nice to finally try one of the burgers. I must not get it being someone who normally goes to places serve ramen etc which you leave feeling like you ate too much. I guess it's in the name of Gourmet really. I wish the staff were a little more interactive and welcoming. I wish it was mentioned that there was a lunch deal as I would have definitely went for that. But no menu was shown to show me this offer. I do recommend if you want a lovely burger but if you are going in at lunch there is...
Read moreWhat a very surprising lunch me and my girlfriend had here. Passed by a few times over the years thinking it was just another burger place but finally decided to check it out and wow we were very surprised. Customer service was unreal, were told a 40 minute wait but only ended up waiting around 20 minutes. Being checked on after we've just started eating is also a massive positive in my opinion in the case of it not being up to your personal standard you are able to communicate that with the staff there and they seemed very eager to make sure that what you ordered is what you wanted.
Being able to choose the how you want your burger cooked just adds something different that I've not really seen anywhere else. A huge part of going out to eat is so have something you haven't tried before and GBK really took that to the next level.
However, every place comes with a negative and in this case there was two really small ones. The machines they use to make the milkshakes made an awful sound that reminds me of the high pitched sound a dentists tool makes, really disturbing sound. Next was the seating, of which I'm all for a social seating setting but the tables were within about 20cm of each other being able to hear the table next to me talking about their drunken night out where they were "spewing all over the floor" was slightly off-putting but then again, we do live in the UK.
Would really recommend a visit, ended up spending about £30 for the two of us and came away feeling fairly full considering we ordered 2 burgers, a basket of chips to share...
Read moreWe were first through the door on January 5 2025. The restaurant was freezing cold we waited 45 minutes for our order of £65 which was my son’s standard burger with fries my wife’s chicken burger which was absolutely disgraceful in fact the mayo 99p burger from McDonald’s would have been 10 times better absolutely shocking. I had a double stack burger with fries. All three of our meals were freezing cold like the restaurant we ordered them medium cooked and they were all well done which shocks me that they came out freezing cold. The fries were what I can only call Luke warm service was okay. The waitress was polite but we didn’t have the heart when she asked us whether our food was okay or not to tell her that it was disgraceful for the £65. We could’ve had a proper sit down meal somewhere we don’t normally complain but my son wanted to try the gourmet burger for a treat. Absolutely no way will I recommend this to anybody or ever go back disgraceful food I should’ve told the staff really but didn’t want to embarrass anyone as we were the only people in there eating. I thought they may have got our mail right From what I could see there is too much chatting going on and more emphasis on topping up mayonnaise bottles then getting some hot food out onto the ice cold freezing metal tables not good. It’s no way from Lin in fact it...
