Garsdale Country Inn — Restaurant in Bury

Currently on a week's break at Burrs Country Park and called into this gem of a pub on our 2nd day. First impressions were amazing so we called in again this afternoon for tea and yet again the staff surpassed themselves regarding friendliness and attentiveness.

They made such a lovely fuss of our 14 week old pup, Cyd. Even though he can get quite 'vocal' due to his age, we weren't made to feel unwelcome because of this. The staff and customer's were understanding and we weren't made to feel unwelcome at all.

We ordered Fish and Chips and a Lasagne and weren't disappointed at all in terms of quality and portion size. All credit to the chef!!

The staff also picked up on the fact it was my husband's birthday and gave him a celebratory shot. Completely unexpected but so very appreciated.

You don't often come across an establishment where you're not just a customer, but actually made to feel part of the community. The larger chains lack this attribute.

We will certainly be paying another visit in the foreseeable and wish the new owners the very best of luck with their new venture, not that it's needed!!!!

I really wish I could say good things about this pub,but I cannot, we arrived before 5pm 9/10/21 ordered food immediately, they where happy to take our order and to take our money, we finally got our complete order at 6:45, and of course it wasn't right, we had two children with us one with epilepsy, even after mentioning we needed to give her, her medication with food there was no action from the kitchen, what upset me the most was the attitude of the staff no communication, no apology, when I tried to take it up with the management, I was told if I wasn't happy I didn't need to come back, so as you can imagine I want be going back ever, I wish I could say the food we received was excellent, in true it was mostly bland, definitely not worth the money, so save your time and money, the management are hoping that the Burrs Mill Park will keep a customer base, save time and get a better experience by going into bury centre 5...

Had my 21st here last night and wasn’t impressed, originally booked the station for a private function (that’s been booked for months) and got squeezed into a corner of the pub. We were reassured that people will leave by 8/9 which definitely wasn’t the case. Before we were moved inside, the station was a mess and definitely not ready to host a function, with glasses on the tables still, food and rubbish on the floor despite being told it was set up ready for us. They were aware of us having a buffet, and provided us with a pop up table which turned out to be broken already.

The overall disorganisation of the staff and pub in general is appalling and wouldn’t recommend trying to have a function here. We basically paid for the whole pub to listen to the music, with punters even coming round and asking for songs/karaoke! Wouldn’t recommend coming here unless you enjoy being stressed and...
