Costa Coffee — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

I bought my 1 shot, medium vanilla latte on Sunday 4th September at this store. I felt the young girl who served me at the till was rude to the point where I was visibly upset by her. First she made me feel like a nuisance for asking a question of how many shots where in a medium latte, then she kept trying to charge me for two coffees and I only wanted 1, I told her three times and she raised her voice to me in frustration (at her mistake). She was clearly busy and angry with the guy making the coffees - she shouted at him as well which was awkward for everyone. I just felt her customer service skills could improve; she had a bad attitude about the situation which made me feel like I had done something really wrong to her. A simple smile would have helped a lot or even an apology for getting my order wrong on the till and me having to tell her three times but it seemed she was just unwilling to actually listen to what I was telling her. I felt uncomfortable and upset , especially when she raised her voice to me about whether it was sit in or take away, I had already told her it was take - away. The coffee did not have the vanilla shot in the end but I was apprehensive to approach the counter again after my experience. Money is tight at the moment and the coffee was my weekend treat to myself during my day out in Edinburgh, in the end I was on the train feeling upset about the way I had been treated and the wrong coffee order. I have been here several times for coffee and a catch up with friends. The staff are always friendly and courteous. My only flaw I can find with the place itself is the serious lack of seating. There are only a few tables and they always seem to be occupied...

Literally no staff behind the counter. Tried 3 times to get a coffee at approx 10:35am this week, but the counter is always unoccupied. I waited for a few minutes but no staff were visible.

Not sure what is going on, if they take breaks at that...
